ok so our universe keeps expanding, there for we keep getting father from the sun. What is going to happen when we get to far from the sun? Can it happen?

the moon will leave earths orbit before that happens, and that will be millions of years too.

I doubt that God will allow it to happen as long as He has not returned to fully gain His people.

Actually the expansion of the universe doesn't apply to the solar system or even our entire galaxy. In fact, it doesn't even apply to our 'local group' of galaxies.

The space that is expanding is the interglactic space. Or to be even more precise, it's the space between groups of galaxies.

The gravitational forces within galaxies and groups of galaxies overrides the expansion of space in these local areas.

At some future time all that will be visible from Earth will be the Milkyway galaxy, the Andromeda galaxy and a handful of others in our local group.

The very interesting observation on that is that if humanity hadn't become technological until that point in time, they would have absolutely no way of ever discovering the "Big Bang" or that any other parts of the universe had ever existed.

From there point of view only a handful of galaxies that are indeed gravitationally bound to each other would appear to be collasping in on each other.

They would have absolutely no way of knowing that the real universe had 'expanded' away.

From there point of view, the universe would be finite in scope and clearly heading for a "Big Crunch". That's the current theory of the actual fate of our "local group".

The local galaxies will continue to fall into each other in repeated collisions and 'pass-through' each other until they finally form one huge galaxy that will eventually slowly stop spinning and collapse in upon itself untill all the matter falls into the black hole at the center.

Then over billions upon billions upon billions of 'years' (if time even makes sense at that point), the black hole will eventually evaporate into nothing but free photons.

And that will be that. laugh

But don't feel too glum about it. There are other potential scenarios, not the least of which is the possiblity that we (as spiritual beings) don't need to worry about how this particular phycsical universe ends because we will have long since been reincarnated into some other universe. bigsmile

There are also theories of how actual physical humans could find ways of transporting themsleves into other universes before this one dies. (but thus far, no empirical evidence exists that any such universes actually exist or would genuinely be accessible through "physical" means).

In the meantime, some people confess that they dunno.

See.

And if earthtaurus doesn't know, then probably no one else knows either.
