Topic: Low hanging fruit

I have noticed a trend recently. I have noticed that the non-Christians
are going for the low hanging fruit. Quoting scripture, offering
commentary on scripture and making statements of "fact", which
contradict accepted facts about Christianity. I see these as attempts
to pull any Christian who is recently saved or weak in faith away from
Jesus and back down to the ground where they will be devoured by Satan.
I strongly encourage Christians to read this next message carefully.

Thoughts, ideas and scripture are all like food. Some are good for you
and some are bad. New Christians are like babies, they aren't ready for
solid foods and they don't easily know the difference between good food
and bad. Not all food that tastes good is good and not all food that
tastes bad is bad. Babies should drink milk and work their way up to
solid foods. A Christian who is confronted by a difficult scripture or
idea might choak on it and end up with less faith than before.
There is only one way to know the truth, that is by using the scriptures
to weight the scriptures.

Hebrews 4:12
------------------------------------------------------------
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged
sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both
joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the
heart.
------------------------------------------------------------

If any of you Christians find yourself tempted by the specious
(seemingly good, but really bad) commentary / interpretations of the
non-Christians here, I hope that you will sit down and ask the Holy
Spirit for wisdom and guidance. I hope that the Christians who post
here who read the Bible for wisdom will read it more than the
non-Christians who seek to pervert the truth.

Aye good post spider.

Babies do drink milk. It should be from the breast of the mother and
not the powder and water of the tools of man.

Once the baby grows to become a child then does that child need more
then the milk of the mother. That is when the meat of the father
becomes the food of sustenance for the son can not grow strong in the
ways of the father without eating of the meat.

Once the child has entered unto the point where he has started upon the
road of the father he must needs feed himself as he needs or be allways
but the son and not the father. What woman of descernment wishes a
child to be the father of her children?

You may in peace drink the milk of the baby from your cup it will
allways be filled for God will never let your cup run empty.

I will drink of his Holy Spirit each day I and He will allways keep also
my cup full. Each in his own measure.

I encourage you all to read what AdventureBegins posted and then think
about this: Jesus is God. Jesus taught from the Torah and the books of
the prophets. But AdventureBegins insists that the Bible is simple the
"tools of men". By understanding that Jesus used the Word to teach, you
can easily see that what AdventureBegins is doing simply trying to
confuse and mislead Christians. How much easier would life be if you
never had to read the Bible or follow the law, but could do whatever you
wanted. This is the same temptation that lead to the fall.

Wow spider thank you so much for this blessing you have bestowed upon
me.

Yes, please read what I have to say.

Jesus did teach from the Torah. The greatest book of those created by
God to tend the garden. The Sons and Daughters of God. The Chosen
Ones.

He taught you from his place as the Son of God. His message is there
for you to read, ponder, reflect upon and learn from.

I do not teach his word for it is given to you already.

I am the Son of Man not the Son of God. I will not teach the words of
the Son of God for I am not a teacher.

There is not a man alive today that has the authority to teach you the
words of the Son of God. Any human that has picked up the book with His
Words in it and 'teaches' you its meaning has usurped the holy spirit
and placed the veil of his own understanding on the Word of God.

AdventureBegins,

First, I didn't bless you. Once again, you reveal you incredibly weak
grasp of scripture. Jesus taught that anyone who is persecuted for
loving him, will be blessed.

Matthew 5:11-12
------------------------------------------------------------
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say
all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad,
because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they
persecuted the prophets who were before you
------------------------------------------------------------

You are correct, God is not your father.

John 8:44
------------------------------------------------------------
You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your
father He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the
truth because there is no truth in him Whenever he speaks a lie, he
speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
------------------------------------------------------------

You are wrong, anyone who understands the scriptures can teach the
scriptures.

2 Timothy 3:16
------------------------------------------------------------
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness,

He says to teach what we learn. To read His word and pass it on to
others so that they may also save by salvation. By learning and
understanding and listening to the teachings of those that learn as we
go. We become more knowledgable, finders of facts and learners of life
as bestowed upon us, by those chosen to write what we read to become
worshipers of God and His infinite wisdom. To become Christ-like, in our
deeds and thoughts and loves.

Joe, God isn't about church. I do not go to church right now. Doesn't
keep me from learning and trying to be spiritual.

You make such a good point Kat. By all means teach what you learn.

I was speaking of those that teach through interpretation not those that
teach by example. Example is the most effective way of spreading the
Message of Christ.

Spider thank you for the quote from Matthew...

'Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say
all kinds of evil against you because of me.'
--------------------------------------------------------------
I did not say evil of you. You spoke evil of me and did it as though
you had the authority of Christ. You have used him as a man wields a
sword. Yet it pierced me not but blessed me.

Me the son of the devil. He He He.
My father was a man. Not only that but he was a just man and lived as
he beleived strengthened by his faith and strong in his conviction.

I am not the Son of God or the son of evil but the Son of Man.
The spirit that is in me I aquired by the breath of God as did all
humans before me. In that line lies my proof but you see it not for you
read the words and they turn to bitterness in your mouth.

Bless me some more if you would sir.

I can see how this would be good advice for those that need the safety
and simplicity of a self-contained system of dogma to support their
relationship with the Divine.

But for those that are interested in Truth, this is just a terrible
idea. It is a deliberate decision to close one's ears to other ideas,
until after one has 'grown' in faith - lets look at what 'growing' in
faith can really mean.

Having a relationship with the Divine is possibly the most wonderful
experience a human can have. It seems a tragedy to me when people
confuse that actual relationship with the dogmas whereby they contacted
the divine. Do you think a Hindu or a Buddhist knows God, or God's
love, any less?

Suppose you first accept a small part of Christian dogma - and shut your
ears to other ideas. While in that state, you experience more of God's
love - it will be easy to mistake God's love as being intimately tied to
Christian dogma. Its a natural mistake to make. But if you keep your
ears open, and _still_ endeavor to grow in your faith (in terms of the
personal relationship!) you can taste God's love without becoming
confused about the true relationship between God and Christian dogmas.

What an outstanding post!

thank you massagetrade.

Ummmm..

Interesting quote spider...

'2 Timothy 3:16
------------------------------------------------------------
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness,
------------------------------------------------------------ '

A bit of teaching by the man Timothy on the word of Christ but not from
the mouth of Christ. Though Timothy may have been an outstanding man he
was but a man and should be read with that in mind. The rebuking he is
refering to is amoung the bretheren when they fall away from the chruch.
It has nothing to do with rebuking one who is not of the faith. For to
rebuke one not of your faith is not judgement but judging. Only God may
judge in matters of the spirit.

Concerning Hebrews 4:12.

Aye and it is time for that two edged sword to plow the fields that have
been fallow and love to be sown in those fields and watered by peace.

In such wise may good fruits be grown and anger placed with the chaff to
be borne away on the winds of change.
