Had to laugh at this story from New Zealand. Since I also find it annoying at times, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit.

Interesting, I suspect there might be other issues, and they used the e-mail just to get rid of her.
A smart employer will have guidelines for employees to follow regarding e-mail communications.

I heard about this story on the radio this morning. The woman was fired without warning. The underlying question is whether it is right to terminate an employee in that manner based solely on a confrontational email(even if it annoyingly all red and in caps)???

IMO IT'S NOT!!!
(I promise I'm not yelling lol) Everything is subject to interpretation flowerforyou

As michiganman said, I doubt this was even why she was fired, though I surely don't know the history or circumstances. In Kansas that's a good enough reason to fire as long as it doesn't violate a protected status.

Regardless, being completely removed from the situation I did chuckle a little.

That's pretty bad to get fired over all caps in an email! frustrated noway Working office jobs I know for a fact that all caps in not permitted. The boss warned the whole office not to send emails in all caps or else! shocked surprised
