Without mentioning last names
Let's say that two people are getting married
NOw Normally the woman take that Guys last name
BUt
Neither one likes their last names for what ever reason
What should they do
MY thought was to use a name from either one's family's history
But I am open to suggestions on this
What do you guys and gals think about this?

i think a woman should take her husbands name
this is just my how i feel
so much in our world has changed as far as traditions go if a woman is
to be a wife than she should have pride in the name her husband carries

what should they do? NOT get married..LOL
you say "Neither one likes their last names for what ever reason" I
think it shows a deep insecurity about your own heritage and If you
can't deal with your own Identity...you really can't deal with marrige
and all that it encompasses....Just my opinion...."What's in a
name?"drinker drinker drinker drinker

well Serchin4MyRedWine
This really has nothing to do with heritage as you put it
That;s why I mentioned using a different name from eithers family's
history

Insecure?

Ok Ok...

I am 1.) oldfashioned I believe I the woman should take the husbands
last name 2.) My mom remarried and the last name I have now is a
heritage I do not want to reconize. I love my moms new husband (my step
dad) he has become my father. My real dad tried to kill my mom & I with
a shot gun because he was a physically abusive drunk

ok..then its an Identy thing....same thing..whats not to like about any
name...it is what it is...changing your name does not change who you
are...so why change it unless your embarrassed about it or afraid what
people think about it...then it goes back to insecurity....but if you
insist..I think Rumplestilskin is as good as any laugh drinker

Have you checked into the legalities of it? I would think it would be
okay. Only other issue would be if children were involved, how would
changing your last name at this point affect them if they have your
current last names??

I hated my ex when I divorced him but kept his name because our daughter
had it and didn't want to confuse the issue by taking my maiden name
back during the divorce. Just a thought.
