Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama denied that his health care proposal would cover illegal immigrants. He apologized in an interview and once to an Obama staffer for his behavior not for his view.

Obama accepted the apology though it was not face to face. Now some want a formal apology. Why? What the hell is that going to accomplish accept to satisfy people that love the idea of public humiliation. A forced apology is as good as no apology, and distracts from the task at hand.

Both sides of the isle do this and it's just unproductive and childish.

Every damn news channel is wasting our time with something that should have been dropped the very next day. ugh

it's all ammunition for political gamesmanship

stuff that the Democrats are expressing shock and dismay over are the same stuff that they were doing during Bush's administration

nobody demanded apologies when the Democrats booed President Bush during his State of the Union Address

I don't think that booing is a bad as shouting, "You lie". Just sayin.

With all due respect booing someone is not exactly the same as calling someone a liar, though it's as annoying. Republicans demanded a formal apology from Obama for his comments a couple of months ago. Both sides have demanded formal apologies, I just think it's unproductive and a waste of time. But do agree it's all political gamesmenship that makes both sides look like idiots.

if you listen close you can hear em yelling "liar" at Bush

this Joe Wilson stuff is a little bit worse but still just a continuation of what both are doing.

what I'm hearing is "do as I say and not as I do"

"it's okay for us cause we're justified. But it's extremism when they do it"

I think that enough apologizing has taken place but I do think if he had any class he would apologize to Obama himself - maybe on the phone or something. An interview, half-a$$ apology and an apology to a staffer....should be to Obama instead, IMO.

Regarding his apology in the interview. I think that was a half-a$$ apology. It was an "I'm sorry but I still think illegals can get insurance" kind of thing.

What I heard on the news.
At one time when a president made a formal address, there was silence until he was finished.
Everyone there was out of proffessional etiquette.
All the way from the boos, applauses to the you lie.

And you are right.
There are so many other more important things going on around the world that they don't deam newsworthy.

I have to go to out-of-country news resources to get US News the US MSM won't cover.

What do you think of Congressman Joe Wilson?”

Tea Partiers Tell CNN Reporter to Go Home and Tell the Truth

You Tube
Sunday, September 13, 2009

CNN Capitol Hill correspondent Lisa Desjardins does a live report from the National Mall in Washington on the day of a huge Taxpayer March or “tea party protest” against the government.

At the start of the interview, anchor Fredricka Whitfield “forewarns” the audience that there might be some yelling during the report.

Desjardins struggles to get through the interview in front of chants of “tell the truth” and “go home, CNN”.

The brave reporter then attempts to ask the protesters a question: “What do you think of Congressman Joe Wilson?” The crowd reacts with applause, then starts chanting, “Way to go, Joe.”

I think for the purposes of etiquette and decorum they should go back to listening politely without applause or comment until after the speech is finished

all this applause at every senence reduces the President's speeches to a series of sound bites and prevents him from making detailed and complicated points
