I'm usually the one who sent it off topic, so no, it doesn't bother me. 
Yeaaaa, I'm guilty of getting into the off topic scrambles. They can be fun. 
My biggest pet peeve is when people post images too large for the margins. Yeah, I can highlight the text in order read the subsequent replies -- but it's ANNOYING! 
It only takes one click to resize a pic to about 300x300 before posting!!!
