Whose god is he talking about? If it is not my god can I be offended since I want my god to represent the god? If this in my country then it should be under my god not yours. Since it could be offensive to those who are not represented by the employees god in that button. What if I have more than one god and I want it to say "under gods"?

supposedly employee wore a button, was not reprimanded nor advised to remove it, but then he started bringing other religious artifacts to work, that's when supposedly he was told to remove it/them from premises.

He wore the pin for over a year, was never told anything, then he brought his own personal Bible to read on his LUNCH break. They didn't have a problem with his button then but I find it suspicious that when he brings his Bible to read on his OWN personal time that they tell him to remove it.

Many other stories regarding not just God but the American flag are disturbing.
Looks like I'm shopping at Lowe's now.

An apartment complex tells a tenant he cannot have an American flag on his personal vehicle.

I know some could care less about the America flag, that is your prerogative but it is our prerogative to fly it in this Country. It is the America Flag and this IS America. Don't like it, don't look at it.

Oregon isn't the only one that tried to ban the American flag.

I don't like seeing atheist signs, but guess what I deal with it. I don't like seeing the mexican flag flying in my Country, I have to deal with it. Deal with us wanting to display our faith in God and in our Country. Don't like it? To bad I deal with all that those oppose of it.

You came up with this---It's just a Fu-k-en button! To bad it wasn't a piece button--would have been promotedbigsmile

actually it is not your perogative to fly the flag on someone elses property such as an apartment complex. the government can't stop you but the landlord certainly can.

yes you do have to deal with it. just as you want to display your faith, others want to display symbols as well. it's all about liberty, that concept that makes america great. and it's no more your country than it is a mexican american's country.

Sorry have to disagree with you hear, thank goodness we have that freedom (so far). If it's their own personal vehicles, it's the Countries flag for crying out loud. Someone has a problem with it, don't look at it, don't salute to it, don't pledge to it. That's everyones prerogative to do it or not do it. Good have fun in home depot waving

the Supreme Court has already ruled that Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion applies to the government not to private individuals (a company counts as a private individual in this case)

Home Depot has the right to restrict religious expression on its property

I always support the Christian causes out there but in this case I would have to agree with Home depot. It is their private business and they can run it any way they want with their dress codes and other rules. When you get into these issues it only gets more complicated with a lot of bickering and fighting...

1.Someone complains about this man wearing button and gets upset.Next day another employee wears a button saying something along the lines of "One nation with out God".

2.Fighting and bickering erupts.Newspapers hear about it publish it and then it is all over the internet.Christians protest and threaten boycott.Atheists complain and also protest.

3.Issue ends up going to the court where someone loses. It is appealed and goes to the state Supreme court where the same person wins.Loser appeals and it ends up going to the Federal Supreme court.

There is nothing wrong with expressing your religion and it is protected under Federal law.But when you are working for someone else it should be understood that wearing a religious button on your uniform could be taken as the company supporting that religion especially if two or more people wore them. That is fine if that is what the company wants to do but if not it could be taken the wrong way.I know when I was shopping at Target once the checker was wearing a Obama button. To be honest I really didn't feel like shopping there anymore.

clearly, it was over a violation of policies/dress code.

the employee was looking for a cause....or a lawsuit which will prove to be fruitless.
