I have always doubted the global warming claims. But then at the same time have not cared if they were true. The fact that it was not that long ago we were in an ice age, and that there have also been much more recent mini ice ages, says to me that we should expect change and that these changes can occur quickly.

Exactly.

And that's why they had to fudge the numbers.

Eons ago when the Iron Lady (a.k.a Margaret Thatcher) was in power she supposedly pushed the global warming theory to justify the closing of the coal mines.......

And here in America, the government keeps pushing the issue because it will enable them to reach even deeper into our pockets and gain even more control of our lives.

Indeed. Regardless of what Al-Gore says or others..there also many scientists who believe we are actually still exiting from the Ice Age.

Remember, the ice age was for several thousands of years and it gradually changed over and gradually changing back.

Just because these changes are maybe not "man-made" does not mean they are not happening...Mother Earth has always gone through changes. We all still should be mind full and aware and respect the planet..consciously be good stewards.

Like I have said before...

I am all for finding alternative energy sources. Cleaner energy and cutting down on reliance to foreign oil would be great.

BUT...the fact remains that those in high positions have been lying to us for quite a while.

Now, I don't know about you, but when someone blatantly lies to me in order to get me to do something, it makes me less willing to do what they want.

I just can't wait to see how the Global Warming hacks spin this one....lmao

I am not exactly sure who you think is a hack but the Guardian is not a reputable source.

It would seem that some hackers got hold of about 13 years worth of emails and documents from a leading climate research center. In those emails, there is mention of data manipulation and other " tricks " to make the data say that the world is warming up, even though it isn't.

This statement is false. The world is heating up and I posted the actual source data, which has been verified by various scientific organizations and governmental teams on my thread. The question is not "is the Earth heating up?". It is. The question is how much of mankind's activities are causing it to heat up.

From the UK Guardian
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/nov/20/climate-sceptics-hackers-leaked-emails

and just in case someone wants to claim the sources aren't credible...there are no fewer than 200 different news outlets carrying this story. They range from NPR to the New York Times, to the Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN...etc.

The number of outlets carrying the story have nothing to do with the credibility of the facts. It is apparently a story about hacking a server and discovering a bunch of rancor among the English community. My thread has the actual source data from Wood's Hole, NASA, NOAA, etc. You should try to understand it if you want to know what is going on.

There will be no claims of only one side ( right or left ) carrying this story.

So, if the temps are rising...why would these " scientists " feel the need to fudge the numbers to show it??

Answer....they aren't.

The temps have been going back down for a few years now.

Does anyone else remember the whole " Global Cooling is gonna kill us all!!!!! " thing a couple of decades ago??

I should " try to understand it "???

here's what I understand. I understand that one of the largest Climate Research labs in the world has been lying about the temps for the last decade or so.

I understand that the vast majority of the Global Warming craze was nothing more than a money grab by greedy politicians who were also looking for ways to remove even more of our freedoms and insinuate themselves into our lives even further than they already have.

By the way...your " source data " , now that we KNOW that some data has been fudged, becomes moot.

That data can no longer be trusted anymore than the data from the source of the emails.

Oh...and had you read a little further...you would have seen that I posted a link t a story in the Wall Street Journal. Don't jump on me about unreliable sources until you have seen all of them that I posted. If you want more, as of last night, there were 295 of them. Will you claim that NONE of them are credible?

I would imagine that the only " reputable " source would be the one that doesn't run the story or agrees with his position.

Hey...as of last night, the L.A. Times hadn't run anything about the story. Maybe they still haven't. Maybe he should just read that paper so he can keep his blinders firmly in place.

If you want the reputable source for the oceans warming, it's Wood's Hole. The oceans drive most of the Earth's weather. Some of their data was collected with help from the US Navy.

The source of atmospheric data is NOAA and NASA with some help and data from the FAA and other countries version of the FAA. The measurements of the Earth's temperature did not come from some organization in England, although I am sure they contributed.

Not true at all.

Tell me how they are going to get more control from us for this issue? Paying to keep the planet healthier should be an expense we are all invested in.

You haven't proven the information was even valid in the OP yet.
