I knew you would say that!!!

Cant blame you, I would do the same!!flowerforyou

You can do much more alive though, and Id hate to lose your friendship!!
I know others would too.
I was reading today about Israel getting itchy button finger over fears
of Iran getting a Nuke soon. If the US doesnt do something you know they
will.

Something is in the air. I see debates in Congress about starting the
draft here. Lots of claims as to why, but I fear the real reason.
hint!!! 2 years left, you know?drinker

The Israeli side is very well known here, Stowhand and needs no
repeating. What is little understood is the Palestinian point of view.

The Palestinians are fighting to free their homes from the Israelis,
homes that were taken over in various ways beginning massively in 1948.

Please read the thread here to get more information, so that we don't
have to repeat things. We also try and avoid posting urls to partisan
sites -- it doesn't advance the discussion much.

Thanks.

All sites are partisan to the side they want to portay, very few people
are objective, there is always an agenda, right Oceans.

As for the Palestinian side not being well known/understood, it is very
well known and understood. What is overlooked is those that keep the
Palestinians in the condition they are in. Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Hamas,
Hezbollah Fatah etc...

They were deceived by those in power in these places and are not
fighting for their homes, I think you would agree that the Israeli
arguement that they have a right to the Land of Israel based on history
is quite invalid. The same goes for the Palestinians.

They are nothing more than Jordanians, Egyptians, and Syrians that lost
their homes when these countries tried to invade Israel.

The small number of Palestinians that were alive when Israel was created
may have some claim if they had been run off their land, however most
sold out. Those not born in what is now Israel have no claim.

The occupation of Gaza, Golan Heights and the West Bank are the
consequences of Said factions/countries mentioned above.

One of the worst things to happen to the Palestinians was Arafat, he
brought the territories to their knees and robbed the Palestinians
blind. The terrorist attacks did nothing to get them any closer to being
better of.

It is the Israeli side that is sadly not understood on well known.

Xootbx, you have too much to learn for me to respond just to you. Please
go back to the several threads I have posted over the last couple of
months here in Current Events and you will find informastion that will
help you address each of the points you make. The threads are all
clearly titled with reference to the Middle East and the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

As I said earlier to you, if I felt that you sincerely wanted to learn,
I would be willing to help you, but your posts show far greater an
attachment to not learning than they do to learning.

I will give you an example, in case the above is not clear to you.

I posted the specific land ownership figures only a day or two ago, and
yet here you pop up making incorrect assertions and clearly not having
read or, worse, understood the information I provided.

So, no more time for you until you show you can actually benefit from
it.

Oceans, it would seem you are the one unwilling to learn anything.
Usually the person with the closed mind calls this false logic card
first.
It is neither a lack of understanding or a lack of having read your
prior post to leads me to post contrary to your postings. It is my
opinion based on the information I have, that disagrees with the
information you have posted, therefore I am posting so that there is an
equal balance of information.

It is it my opinion that all information posted on the the Internet have
a counterbalance so that those that do not know, will not be sucked into
a one sided understanding of the information.

I must say that you hidden (not so well hidden) insults are quite
amusing. Also you claims to educate me are quite welcome, however you
have yet to pose anything that I have not yet heard/read elsewhere. Thus
your claim that I have a lot to learn, is really a reflect of yourself.
Just because people do not agree with the official liberal lines, does
not mean they need to learn more, it means they probably already know
those lines and disagree.

Thanks for all the fish.

Oceans, Zionism as not as simple as you put it. There are many types of
Zionism, the one you are refering tois "Modern Political" Zionism.

The root Zionism, is simply the return to Israel, a biblical reference
after G"d banished the Jews.

There are Christian factions that are Zionist as well, and other
Christian factions that support Zionism as they feel that it will lead
to Judgement Day.

Good afternoon, everyone.

I am off to a discussion on the Israeli occupation, one of many panels
reviewing the occupation, 40 years after.

There seems to be an increasing recognition within Israel that the
occupation was not only unjust, but that it weakened Israel's position
in several ways. The discussion this evening will in effect be a debate
about this.

The hopeful thing about the discussion is that it is organized and the
invitations to it are extended by Jews themselves; they style it as a
'discussion within the family.'

My deep hope is that this may lead to a profound reexamination by Israel
and its supporters about not just the occupation, but the foundational
premises of the State of Israel. If they can do this successfully, we
may be able to create a path that stops the killing, the massive
injustice to the Palestinians, and the warping of Jewish morality that
is now associated with the present configuration of Israel.

Perhaps we should be blaming the League of Nations, the British, the
U.N., and the failure of world political leaders to find a peaceful
solution to this problem every step of the way since the end of World
War I. It's a multi-generational conflict/war that finger pointing by
intellectuals and assigning blame to either side will never solve. How
about assigning solutions that all can live with? That one is likely
beyond your grasp.

imkeys, all I can say is...... yes. Here you will learn much and solve
nothing unless you feel froggy enough to suggest solutions which will be
dissected until unrecognizable before being thrown on the trash heap and
ignored. You hit the nail on the head. It's like an 8 track player
around here. The tape never stops and you get to hear the same old songs
over and over and over again. But if you poke these stodgey stuffed
shirt old professors in the side with your finger they will
