How hard is it to read someones profile before messaging or iming them? Why bother going to someones page if you are not going to read it? Enlighten me please...

Not very I guess , but it depends on the individual. I personally would read the profile of someone's page I viewed - but I would only send them a message if I felt like I had something in common with them.

RareEntity- I knew that but I wanted it verified I guess lol Joey- I agree...I always read the profiles but if I feel there would be no connection I would not message them... But I dont read blank profiles

some people might email or IM because of a post they saw on the forums, as well Didnt think of that...but I get people all the time messaging me and asking me all kinds of stuff that is in plain sight in my profile and it just gets annoying

One of the major complaints here is that people don't read the profiles, asking you about 'stuff that is in plain view' kinda tips you off that they did read your profile. I look at a lot of profiles, but don't contact because I already have met someone. People are interested in people and will give a quick look, just to see, just to find out about a bit about a person.

I think a large number of people just come to these places to look at pics..................window shoppers!

Because most profiles are all the same. Little more than a long string of adjectives. "I'm an outgoing person that loves my family. I enjoy music and movies. My friends say I'm pretty laid back and blah, blah, blah..." Nothing in there to really tell me what's unique about the person. Nothing for me to sink my teeth into and compose an interesting message about. So, I come up with wild ideas instead. At least she knows I'm fun and have a sense of humor.

I read tons of profiles and I never message or IM anybody! But then, I like to read, and most profiles only consist of seven words, anyway....
