To try and give you my answer to your post's question.
I am straight, so the flip side I have not lived, but. I think I know most of every person a bit. And this Internet role that ANYONE can in-list in. Is simply easier than all the MIGHT HAPPENS, if they acted out in the public way of approaching someone. Lets face it, if I or many of the straight people are hit on by a gay person,,SOME just roll with it,,and say they don't go that way. But SOME act like its a horrific CRIME and go spastic on them. So given that into thoughts. It would be far safer, friendly, more openness to do all that on HERE. Or on the Net, verses the cold ask in person(lets say).. That would be my understanding of it. And as for them being beautiful or plain, that to me wouldn't make their choice to be on here one way or the other. I believe it would ALL be on what they have had happen in BOTH situations of life? I have always felt that SOME of the most beautiful ladies I have ever know or seen, were gay... There are many on here who I have met, and their all very nice women I am glad to meet you and I hope you find someone you like on here. By the way, your poems are very cool...  |

I don't think it happens only to the lesbian community. It's just that being a lesbian when it comes to dating, it's ridiculous to think that I'd go looking for male profiles and straight women to see what they look like. You have to put it into context, Fear. I was asking fellow LESBIANS about what they think of certain issues. Not to say that no others can post here; it's just that it's mainly geared towards that aspect of dating because I don't involve myself with the opposite sex and therefore is of no interest to me. Dating is pretty much the same concept no matter your orientation. You go out, meet people, someone sparks your interest, you ask. There is no issue, well, aside from the issue that people seem to create. It's kind of like making a dragon out of a gecko, honestly, you never know until you go...or something like that. |

Yeah. I just find it interesting that there seems to be so many attractive people choosing to do online dating. Normally online dating is seen as the last resort, because the supposedly "hot" ones are supposed to have the easiest time finding dates.
The fact that the attractive ones outnumber the less attractive ones seems a little mind boggling to me. I would have thought (at least on the sites with real people and not fake profiles with modelling photos) that there would be a much more even balance of looks amongst the crowd like you'd find face to face. Suddenly, geeky internet things are cool again. All is well with the world. Now, loyal subjects... BRING ME THE HOT CHICKS!

It seems kind of strange to me that upon trolling around on multiple lesbian dating sites, I found that so many of the attractive girls are single. You're made to think by the general community that internet dating is for people who fit into the categories of ugly, losers who can't get dates face to face, serial killers and rapists, self obsessed lunatics, and fake profiles made by the dating site themselves. It almost shocks me that this isn't always the case, and it's sort of sad. I think a lot of these people are probably lovely girls; it just makes me wonder WHY. What do you all think? - Is it because we girls aren't trained to approach other women so we're forced to look online in fear of being rejected? - Are you afraid of dating someone in your home town because you aren't completely out? - Are people in your town conservative/homophobic? - Is your town so small that the Gay Population = You ? - Are lesbians where you are just not your type? If so, what IS your type? - Do you just live in a remote area and can't connect with the people around you? - Do you have a hard time convincing people that you ARE in fact a lesbian even though you aren't butch and wearing flannelet shirts? - Are people just scared to approach you in lesbian bars/events because of the fact you are attractive? Or is there some other reason that you think so many of these girls are having a hard time finding a person to date? Are we just too picky? I'd love to hear some other opinions on this. I would say to assume that a good looking partner automatically means a "good" partner can cause many problems in finding the best partner. Looks are really not all they are hyped to be anyway when it comes to a person of character. Because in the end it will be the character that makes them worth being with. There are attractive folks on all sites who are single for all different reasons. |

Alright. I can handle 60/40. I'm too paranoid a bi girl would decide she liked men more. For some reason, the idea of someone cheating on me with a member of the opposite sex seems more offensive than cheating with the same sex. Dunno why.
