The original:

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir

I like all the old black and white spooky/haunted house/ghost comedies from the 30's and 40's:

The Ghostbreakers with Bob Hope

The Ghost Train- British comedy about a group of strangers stranded at a train station where a ghost train haunts the tracks.

Blondie Has Servant Trouble- From the long running Blondie film series. Blondie, Dagwood, and Baby Dumpling stay at a haunted mansion.

Hold That Ghost- Abbott and Costello inherit an abandoned inn.

The Time Of Their Lives- Lou Costello as a ghost, I don't need to say more.

Abbott and Costello Meet The Killer- Bud and Lou work at a big hotel where people are getting killed off. With Boris Karloff

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein- Classic.

Sh! The Octopus- forgotten 30's comedy about two detectives stranded at an abandoned light house.

And of course the Topper films.

There's also the 70's Don Knotts movie about the field goal kicking mule- "Gus"

I love, love:

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

The Reluctant Astronaut

The Incredible Mr. Limpet

Sidebar: My Dad flew the jets in The Reluctant Astronaut, and Don Knotts came to our house for dinner ...

Edit ... My Dad had lots more hang~outs w/ him ... drinks

That's awesome! I love Don Knotts. I watch Ghost and Mr Chicken every October. I also enjoy the Don Knotts Tim Conway team-ups, especially Private Eyes.

I just love the organ music in it ...

Tim Conway and Don Knotts paired up ... Man, is there anything more raucously uproarious?

rofl ... ... LOVE them both ... smitten

They were a great pair. On the Private Eyes commentary- Tim Conway has some really funny stories about working with Knotts on the film.

Dunnay think I've seen either:

Sh! The Octopus-

Torgo, do you remember a sorta Herculian film ...

"She" ...???

It was a 1965 film made by Hammer Film Productions ...

Schlock that it was, it was still incredibly formative for me ...

With Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee. Been awhile since I've seen it. There's been several adaptations- The first was 1908. I still want to see the 1935 version with Randolph Scott.
There's a great cheesy Italian version from the 80's that sets it in the post-apocalypse, with Sandahl Bergman as She.

Yes, I've not ventured to the other productions thereof, YET, including the original ...

It had quite the impact, strangely ... Mystical appeals to me, ALWAYS!
