...did Obama promise that if you made less than 250K a year, your taxes wouldn't go up?? 25?? 50?? A couple HUNDRED times?
Well...guess what. That was just another talking point/lie to get people to vote for him. NOW...Pelosi and a few others have said that a " Value Added Tax " ( a national sales tax ) is being considered. Does anyone think that " considered " doesn't mean almost guaranteed?? Doesd anyone think that, despite his promises, he wouldn't sign it once it was put on his desk? Way to go Obama.

'The ONE', 'Dear Comrade Leader', 'The Messiah', 'He Who Walks On Water' (PBUH), 'Mister World Apologist for America's Evil', 'Mister "I stand with the Muslims"', 'The Kenyan Candidate', or whatever other 'titles' this malignant little Communist narcissist chooses to use (or has applied to him), he is NOT about doing one damned GOOD thing to help THIS nation. He is about DESTROYING this nation, its folkways, mores, and values, and its CAPITALIST, Constitutional Republic. His 'promises' mean nothing. He can only use people. If you can't do anything for him or fawn over him, he has no use for you. If you can't vote for him or exercise thug tactics at polling places or private meetings, he has no use for you. If you're a CITIZEN who was BORN here, he has no use for you. IF, on the other hand, you're ILLEGAL, UNEMPLOYED, a UNION MEMBER, or a 'democrat', then he cheerfully welcomes you and uses you until you have nothing more to offer him. At that point, your 'useful idiot' purpose has been served and you are disposable. Joe the Plumber nailed it exactly right when he told 'The ONE' "You're going to raise my taxes." No one was paying attention to the answer to that challenge ... damned shame, 'cuz it outlined everything that came after. Like Margaret Thatcher said, "Socialism is a wonderful thing until you run out of other people's money."

I also hope the schools will start including in their GOVERNMENT class a lesson on how a president cannot PROMISE anything(except maybe to veto) because he doesnt work alone and noone can promise what others will do.
I always take a candidates 'promises' as a promise of intention, not a guarantee of accomplishment,,, |

I read the earlier post, don't want to rehash. I think Obama got over exuberant in that speech. He will probably not be able to prevent All taxes from effecting people of lower incomes. I know he is trying to help the lower incomes but he also has to deal with congress so he will probably not have any luck there. |

Besides that, noone can possibly believe that there will not be a normal yearly or normal increase in taxes. Taxes increase all the time. New ones are made all the time. We have to pay them to keep our nation all it is.
I know here we have a law that prevents our local government from raising taxes whenever they get ready, I think it is called Tabor or something like that, anyway, they cannot raise taxes except in certain cases sooooooo we now have almost doubled all of our government fees and penalties to cover the non raised taxes. You are going to pay taxes in a country where you have government that provides military, police, firemen, roads, postal service, public services, parks & recreation, waste management, etc.... So pay and then be glad when the fire truck comes when you call or the police come when you call or you drive down a paved highway, etc... it is all payed for by our taxes. |

Does it really matter anymore? I live fine, and I'm quite happy. I am trying not to let politics control how I live anymore. It's torn this country apart. People get so angry over stupid stuff now. Just get over it and move on. We will all be dead one day and it won't matter anyhow. Bleh. Politics suck. We are taxed on pretty much everything we do, so either pay it or protest. I will just pay it and be happy. : ) Doesn't do any good to be upset.

He flat out LIED about this one. please accept this outside the box logic,,,but I would expect that specifying an INCOME range (below 250,000 per year) would associate the tax with an INCOME range as well.. those taxes relating to income range are income taxes,,,,,,taxes on things like cigarettes and tans dont discriminate specifically on income range as someone making 20000 per year who smokes is gonna have to pay the tax just the same as anyone else...this is why i consider it a semantics issue, because taken in context, there would be no reason to specify an income range if he were referring to any and all taxes(regardless of income) |
