Bad dreams are often caused by eating strange food.

Take a sleeping pill like Ambien if you have one. If not, take 50 mg of Benadryl. You should sleep like a baby. Although Benadryl is an antihistamine, it is often used as an "over the counter" sleeping aid.

It can give you a bit of a hangover.

Yeah, I do ... flowerforyou

I'd suggest:

Limit your caffeine, only before noon, too

A sound machine w/ rain or ocean

5-HTP ... an hour before bed

Melatonin ... an hour before bed

A Sleep~Time herbal mixture that includes hops, chamomile, passion flower, valerian root, and the like ... an hour before bed

Say Prayers before a nice meditation ...

Meditating on the way to your sleep ... try the one where you start at your toes and slowly relax them, as you continue in this fashion, working your way up your entire body, one body part at a time ...

Journal your dreams ...

I have a sound machine, didn't think of it. The last night (mon) it was starting I was drifting in and out, started my conversing with the People upstairs. All of a sudden a couple of mockingbirds! were outside my window, singing. Stayed there for awhile, I said thnkyou and feel alseep. Could hear them for on and off a couple of hours. Strange? no.

Didn't know HTP worked for sleep. Melantonin- have also. Benedral- not sure- those darn side effects get me the next day.
I have mood support with alot of those herbs but use it more for nerves and the next day am a little zoned out.
Will try the HTP in a little while, that seems to have little effect on me the following day after using it.
Thanks Kate! Those dreams freaked me out, they weren't OBE so to speak, this was real negative energy pulling at me.

I haven't had any scary dreams in a while. I finally got the yard mowed and then slept like a baby. Couldn't sleep before that.

ah well my first question would be r u drinking too much coffee or alcohol before going 2 sleep...stop and no exercising before retiring.

second question would be what is going on in your daylight hours that would affect your sleeping subconscious hours? what kind of stress r u under at work?

can you get some strenuous exercise to make you sleepy? mow the grass, walk one hour a day.

this sounds very serious. do you take sleep medication? for if you don't, surely after 5 days of sleeplessness, you become sleep deprived, and this is not good. consult your MD to find out what is right for you.

you could have sleep disorder of sorts.
