NONE of that happened when President Bush put the clamps down, NONE OF THIS. " and raise you five minutes of search engine research,, (from foxnews, none the less) The following is a list of known terror plots thwarted by the U.S. government since Sept. 11, 2001. • December 2001, Richard Reid: British citizen attempted to ignite shoe bomb on flight from Paris to Miami. • May 2002, Jose Padilla: American citizen accused of seeking radioactive-laced "dirty bomb" to use in an attack against Amrica. Five of six were from Lackawanna, N.Y. • Click to view photos of suspected terrorists and attack sites. • May 2003, Iyman Faris: American citizen charged with plotting to use blowtorches to collapse the Brooklyn Bridge. • June 2003, Virginia Jihad Network: Eleven men from Alexandria, Va., trained for jihad against American soldiers, convicted of violating the Neutrality Act, conspiracy. • August 2004, Dhiren Barot: Indian-born leader of terror cell plotted bombings on financial centers (see additional images). • August 2004, James Elshafay and Shahawar Matin Siraj: Sought to plant bomb at New York's Penn Station during the Republican National Convention. • August 2004, Yassin Aref and Mohammed Hossain: Plotted to assassinate a Pakistani diplomat on American soil. and from heritage.org http://www.heritage.org/Research/Reports/2009/07/Terrorist-Watch-23-Plots-Foiled-Since-9-11 my list could go on and on as well, but these are mainstream and sometimes slanted sites(as are most on the web) I am sure there are many many more attempts which we dont hear about. I was seeking an OFFICIAL source of facts which could verify what those were.. |

The DC sniper does not fall into what we are talkig about. Neither was connected to ANY overseas extremist network but was a criminal act to train and prepair to kill his ex wife. His objective was not the objective that AQ or the Taliban have. The anthrax scare was simular. It was from a disgruntled Government employee who wanted revenge. Again not tied to ANY extremist orginization. |

what extremist groups took credit for these examples? how do we distinguish between the acts of crazy individuals who support a group and acts done by the group itself? |
