Sitting on a bus reading a book with my service dog laying at my feet. A woman tapped me on the shoulder and in a very loud voice.

"I'm so sorry, How long have you been blind?"

I just looked her right in the eyes and said

"About as long as I've been deaf"

A: *looks at five pages of stuff I wrote*
*looks up at me*
"I reject your proposal."

The nicest way of anyone telling me "This is BS" ever.

That 70 year old sounds cool. I always wanted to interview people... or do psychological evaluations. Same difference.

In a text message -

"L: Aww omg you elicit panda-fuzzy flutters in my heart as well :)"

actually the kind of interviewing I do isn't really that kind of evaluation but I can understand why u might think so. I certainly form an impression, but as a professional, I have to separate my profession and my company's professional standards from my impressions - that is what it means, in large part, to be a professional - does that make sense at all?

@fifi- as to men who don't show...eh, it's their loss most likely. I think they get cold feet and sometimes lose their nerve. But, this is the most likely scenario; they can't stand up to their friends. (need to learn to do this , guys). But that doesn't make it right, They need to either avoid committing or call with one of the thousands of stupid excuses to back out. Even if it's a made up excuse - you at least aren't left waiting & wondering.

The other thing is their friends or sometimes brothers if they have them. They usually at some point try to interfere between a guy and his new girl. Why? lots of idiotic reasons - but they ALWAYS do it - they are ur worst enemy until u become the established "girl" - mainly I think it is often jealousy when they (the "friends") don't have girls of their own. The corollary being that his friends who already have a GF can be ur best friend. Women in a reverse case scenario don't do this as often. I think the female bonding structure is more supportive and less competitive than the males'.

The other possible explanation is that he met someone else, esp. with ITT dating. He needs to have the decency to cancel at least. With dating ITT - I assume that the guys I talk to r talking to other women as well as me - that way I don't hang everything on one IM...there are good and not so good things about this ITT dating offtopic sorry - prolly should be a nother thread

that is hilariouslaugh - I have had people with poor eyesight tell me that people will talk louder to them

if anything u can talk softer - blindness intensifies their other sensory perceptions (unless of course they really do have deafness - multiple handicaps)

What interesting/funny/awkward stuff have people said to you in the last week? Anything make your day?

"Hmmm. Well, congratulations, by the way, on using solipsistic and deterministic in the same compound sentence."

Ironcially the best thing someone said to me this week was you are fired. I was fired for taking a sick day and not bringing in a doctor's note. My company does not allow sick days. Oh well, hated the job anyways. LOL

I heard "Thank You" from my dearest friend when I showed up at her work to help her out with inventory late Wednesday night. I got there at about 10:30, and we didn't get out of there until 3:30.

As she's the manager, it was all well and good that after her last paid employee left, I broke out a bottle of SoCo. It made counting more fun...drinker

BTW.. How come they never said drinking helps with counting on Sesame Street?? drinks rofl
