Hi All,

I have a friend who is black and she has met this great guy who is
Mexican. She is getting lip from both sides of the fence. Have any good
advice I can pass along? Maybe someone who has been there?

Thanks

I am black also, and have got dirty looks from people when out with
women of a different race.
No one has ever said anything to me, maybe because I am a 6-2 former
football player and marine.
But what I say to the lady dating the guy is let nothing stop you from
being happy, date who you want.

Hey I've dated chicks of all races and there was always shitty looks
from every one. Just tell yer friend not to worry bout them and just
move along. As far as the bad mouthing goes tell 'em to mind their own
goddamn business. Cuz its not anya theys anyway. And good luck to yer
friend :-)

this is a big deal for alot of people altho i dont know why.

why should it matter, why dont people believe in letting people be happy
intheir own choices instead of what they choose for them??

i have always dated interracially and always got strange looks, and boy
when i come out and was dating a black woman, holy shit people about
choked but what i have to say is tel your friend to get that "fuck
ya'll" attitude and do what makes her happy reguardless of what skin
color someone is!

Like I had mentioned in the other post (Interacial dating), my dad
demanded that I stop dating black men but I just ignored him. I was in
high school at the time. His threats didn't phase me one bit so
society's looks, especially from black women, didn't bother me any
either. I'm pretty tough and can take a lot. Don't let the smile fool
ya.

My bro is married to a black women and they had hell throughout their
entire time dating. Not married but when they first started dating. Her
mom was a total bitch. Can you say that here? She hated the fact that my
bro was with her daughter and was always giving him as well as the rest
of us dirty looks every time we were in church. She's not at all like
that anymore. I guess she changed her ways once her grandaughter was
born.

YOu can't help who you love whether they're black, white, asian.....xyz
like kingb said. : )

In theory, I would say go for it and enjoy!
In reality, there are many more issues involved. It's easy just to sit
back and say "screw everyone" that doesn't like it, but everyone are the
people that you have to deal with for a long, long time. What happens if
one gets fired because of dating the "Spick"? Or when you're not invited
to parties? Can the relationship endure all of the added stresses it is
going to have to endure to survive?
If this were to become a relationship, is there the possibility of
children of this union? Are there already children involved?
Are they prepared to explain to a child why they are being hated by
people of both races and the other kids won't come to their house to
play?
I would say go for it, but during the LONG dating phase, I think
communication is more important than normal. Use the dating phase to
evaluate the strength of the feelings because it is going to have to be
stronger than a typical relationship.
I wish them luck, but sometimes all of the love in the world is not
enough to overcome the realities and the cruelties of people who don't
see things as you do.

I would have to say forget them if the guy makes her happy then go for
it They don't run her life only she knows what makes her happy. They
just to but out.

its not the racisim its when your own race ****s over you makes you turn
that route
how can your own race make you take a route i date white guys but its not because being black made me do it you sound racist of your own race, you cany fault the whole race of black people cause you made bad choices for yourself i love being black love my culture love my skin color stay the same color all year round you need to love yourself then maybe you will find some1 special no matter what race she is,,,,,

the problem is,most people don't care if a person is happy or not.too many people want everyone else to be just like them, you could be miserable as hell but hey if you're just like them you're cool.

i say tell your friend to hell with what people say or the way they look.if she's happy,f***'em!

My belief on the whole interracial dating, is do what makes you happy. Granted there will always be someone who may dislike, but the point of the fact is that as long as you are happy and they are treating you with respect and dignity.

A person is person through and through no skin color or nationality is going to be any different.

I would like to find a woman of color myself. But where I live the dating scene is particularly empty.

As it says in Ziggy Marley's song "Lee & Molly", "Let love be free!!!". I caught hell all my youth for dating black girls & taking part of the hip hop culture. I know first hand, it's hard but it's very important not to let outside people determine the status of your relationship;^]
