I like what Jesus says about Heaven, as recorded by Matthew, Luke and Mark. I assume they weren't liars, so that they must have recorded Jesus correctly when he said, "Heaven and Earth will pass away." [Matthew 24:35, Luke 21:33, Mark 13:31]

Hmm? So, according to the New Testament, Heaven is not a done deal. It doesn't last forever. If that is so, we may be able to assume that Hell doesn't last forever either, but that's not the question here. There is more substantive indication that Hell may have a strong enough foundation to last forever, whereas Heaven is apparently no more than a transitory reward.

Now, if Heaven doesn't last forever, where are all those saints and other good souls going to go? Reincarnation on Earth is out because "Heaven and Earth will pass away." So, for those of you who believe in Christianity and Heaven as a final reward, be aware that the Bible tells you that you're eventually going to be evicted. Poof, you're out. Get out, and don't come back.

At some point in the foreseeable future (foreseeable, because Christ saw it), your pitiful soul is going to be kicked out of Heaven. Your so-vulnerable soul will be homeless, a wisp of personality that is going to be "all alone forever" and ever and ever. For most people, that is worse than Hell. At least, you'd have company in Hell.

Don't worry too much, I plan on taking over sometime during the "Final Judgement." After that, I'll make a few changes that will be more appealing, one of which is tearing down the walls so everyone can enter, and now making it everlasting.

I don't know that the lying was intentional. I've said it in another post, but Jesus was constantly telling the apostles that they didn't understand what he was saying. What we are led to believe is that after he died they all of a sudden understood completely.

I'm pretty sure what Jesus really said, died with him.

The gospels themselves claim this to be the truth!

So duh? slaphead

It would be pretty silly to believe anything they have to say after that confession. whoa

So, what I'm getting from this is that everyone would prefer to believe that the Gospels are lies and that Mark, Luke and Matthew are liars, since it conflicts with our beliefs in an eternal Heaven. Since all our information about Jesus comes from these Gospels, which are lies, then I suppose the fairy tale Heaven that our mothers told us about (which, incidentally, were engendered in French fairy tales and absorbed by the Catholic Church) is really the afterlife to which we all subscribe. So, maybe it's time we dumped Christianity, which is based on lies, and go back to our pagan roots, as recorded in French fairy tales.

Maybe we should dump it all and see what 'feels' right...instead of having all the well intending adults telling the rather smart and intuitive kiddos what their truth is....
Wow, possibly everyone can get to work their life out without others shoving their beliefs up our azz's. What a concept!

So, the current Heaven is a shabby place? It needs to be torn down and replaced? Not much of a Heaven. And how do we know that the new projects are going to house the current residents?

Is because earth will be made as heaven. Heaven now is a holding place for God, Jesus, and the angels. The new heaven will be more common for us.
Revelation 21:1-4
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

Such great wisdom on the boards today. flowerforyou

I'm an old kid, but I'm finally making up my own religious paradigm that is far better than anything I had ever been taught by the stuffy adults. bigsmile

You do realize that even Revelations is confessed to be nothing more than some guy's dream.

Personally I perfer my own dreams better. drinker

I've come across some of your philosophy before and found it profound. Have you published?

You know what they say about great minds Abra flowerforyou

I was one of those smart intuitive kids....rebelled immediately when 'they' attempted to tell me my truth. I've allowed my boys to figure it out..and their pretty awesome men now. If I did nothing else right raising them alone, that part I did do right.

and according to the Old Testament there is no mention of "Heaven" per se.

I'm just starting to write a three-book set. Three books because the subject matter loans itself to three volumes. But I'm actually working on all three of them simultaneously. bigsmile

I have several years of notes to work from. Much of it is just a matter of "re-oranization" and putting it into a format that presents the material in a nice linear fashion that a reader can easily follow.

I just did a search in the KJV Bible at this site:

http://quod.lib.umich.edu/k/kjv/

I came up with 441 mentions of "heaven" in the Old Testament and 298 mentions of it in the New Testament.

So which "Old Testament" are you referring to?
