Some of these may be duplicates and some may (or not) work, but they're worth a shot:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To convert MS Works to .psf:
http://convert.software.informer.com/download-convert-microsoft-works-to-pdf-file/
To convert MS Works Spreadsheet (.wks):
http://www.rl-software.com/converter/wks-wdb-to-excel.htm
To convert Word, Publisher, Excel to .pdf:
http://www.pdfonline.com/convert-pdf/
'Convert Doc' - Document Conversion Utility, PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM):
http://www.pdfonline.com/convert-pdf/
Thanks. No luck with any of those either -- the last 2 actually froze up my computer.
If openoffice doesn't work try google docs. You will need a google gmail account, upload .doc to google docs, open the document and download as pdf.
Always works for me.
Oh, what type are you trying to convert?
The file I'm trying to convert (this is a new book) is a .doc file, from a Microsoft Works Word Processor. I originally used AbiWord 2.8 for the file because this laptop had no word processor on it -- then I converted the Abi file to a .doc and now I'm stuck....!
Well, I can get a PDF but it's all botched up....!!
hope that helps
Hey, I think I accidentally stumbled into a solution. Then there were some weird indentation issues going on so I had to fix the original and re-PDF it, which I'm sure is not even a real word.
Anyway, I think it's fixed now. If I end up getting shot by an irate publisher, you'll know what happened.
And thanks to all for the input....!
