The way I look at it, and I hope you can hear the sarcasm, "Great, just what we need, another church." ANOTHER CHURCH - well maybe they can be convinced to make it look like a Buddhist monestary - we don't have a lot of that kind of structure here - it would be change. Oh - I know make them uses some part of the land for a memorial and list all the victims of 9/11 on it.. THEN all the loved ones of all the victims will have a common meeting ground - just a couple blocks from ground zero. AND they can keep an ever sharp eye on the goings on around the place....

I wonder if a YMCA (the building is a community center in the manner of the Y, as I understand) on "ground zero" would cause such a ruckus on these forums.

Is it open to gays - if not you'll never see a good performance of the song - Y M CA - THERE. On the other hand, maybe a good cooking school is needed - we can retrain all the out of work poeple who want to take back jobs from immigrants - fast order cook anyone? yea, i agree.. but we are talking about 9/11, when the buildings came down - not 1000 years ago, nothing in ireland, nothing to with anything but the muslim terrorists that hijacked the planes that killed close to 3000 people. Christians didn't kill those people, muslims did. if Christians did that, then i would feel the same about them.
