I like my Dell computers. But, that's just my personal experience. I actually have no qualifications or expertise in this area.
Are you buying a new computer? |

Mac. Period. Used Mac and PCs - Responsible for maintaining production as well as rental PCs and Macs until I retired in '06 ... PCs were ALWAYS 'install many, run once' - my Macs were always 'install once, run many' ... my PCs routinely took approximately 180% more maintenance and support time than ANY of my Macs ... and using a 'Ghost' disk image didn't make any of the reinstalls a bit faster or easier ... btw, these were all DESKTOP machines ...

Here's the link to Apple's site ... http://www.apple.com/macpro/ You can ALSO run your PC programs on the Mac simply by partitioning the hard drive and installing whichever 'Windoze' flavor you want on it ... then it's just a choice of booting into MacLand or WindozeWorld ... Remember, tho' - you're STILL just as vulnerable to the PC viruses on a Mac with Windoze installed as you are on a PC ... one of the 'benefits' of PC-land ... Check this site out for Mac deals ... http://www.macmall.com/home |

While I would recommend a Mac or an iPad for most beginners, they are definitely pricey. If that is a major consideration, and you're at least a little familiar with Windows, then it's hard to go wrong with a Dell. I've used Dells ever since they became a company and I haven't had any major problems yet.
I'm an IT Manager by day, and the company I work with uses Dells almost exclusively. |
