..So you've met someone and you've been on a couple of dates, and you feel like things might be headed toward the next level..le bootay..but you're a complete STDaphobe(not a word..is now)..so when do you ask them if they have herpes or HIV..do you ask them for the necessary documents to prove they are disease free..or do you take their word...scared

..how do you expect they would act when asked these questions

you pose an interesting question... on one hand, you want to be purdent and safe, on the other hand - you are basically saying "prove to me you are not lying when you tell me you are clean"...

1. you could always (and likely should always) wear a condom
2. if it's just a fling, you both should be mature enough to be honest and accept that proving you are clean is prudent
3. you could press them with other questions - and get a feel for their honesty (i.e. when were you last tested? Where did you go to be tested? What were you specifically tested for? How did you receive your results? What were the results? Have you ever tested postitive for anything?
4. be prepared to answer any and all questions you ask of them yourself...

Good luck!

..i for one would have no problem with any question posed to me..being fifty i've pretty much heard them all..nor would i have a problem with being tested in order to ease someone's mind if i cared for them...do you think the person would get mad and just walk off from the date..

I would say if they are offended and get mad, then they have something to hide. There is no possible reason why anyone would fault you for wanting those questions answered and even proof of the answer. After all...it IS a matter of life and death these days!!! At least that's how I look at it? drinker

I wouldn't be offended. I was tested for hiv, just to be on the safe side. But I didn't keep the documentation. Do you think I'll really need it?

I'm thinking if this hasn't already been hashed out that you are probably moving too quickly.

But, if you are serious about it, just ask him.

If you feel that strongly about them that you want to take it to the next level, then these questions should be brought up. If you can't think of a way, go rent a chick flick and wait until the love scene comes on...then casually say "Gee, did they even take time to find out if the other is disease free?? I would think that would be important before 'doin' the nasty'". laugh (Just to keep it light)

See what her reaction to that is, if she agrees then pause the movie and say that it is important to you to know the answers before you would do that.flowerforyou

Okay, so coming from the bold and beautiful, me:wink: laugh , I have a strict policy of safe sex!

The other option, if I trust I am the only one, is two trips to the clinic together three months apart.

Because HIV has a three month show up wait in the body.

I think it is "her" as the OP is a man.

Well then, just replace the 'him' with 'her.'
