I can't say the women were hormonally unbalanced. They look toooo old for that.
Walking off angrily shows an inability to debate.

Furor over Ground Zero mosque prompts "View" walkout
Reuters

Thu Oct 14, 3:45 pm ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off the set of TV's "The View" on Thursday after a shouting match with conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly about the planned mosque near the site of the September 11 attacks in New York.

Tempers flared on the daily talk show when a finger-jabbing Fox News host O'Reilly asserted that the planned Muslim cultural center and mosque near the old World Trade Center site was inappropriate because "Muslims killed us on 9/11."

In a noisy exchange, Goldberg uttered an expletive that was covered by a bleep, and Behar said "I don't want to sit here. I am outraged by that statement". The two women walked out, but returned a few moments later.

"The View" co-host, veteran broadcaster Barbara Walters, apologized to the studio audience, saying "we should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage."

But Walters insisted that O'Reilly apologize, telling him,

"It was extremists. You cannot take a whole religion and demean them."

O'Reilly grudgingly responded; "If anybody felt I was demeaning all Muslims, I apologize."

Hey sunshine - ya got it all wrong, they walked off (unprofessional agreed) not over the furor of the mosque but rather the furor for Bill O'Reilly's comment that the US was attacked by the Muslims. For which he later apologized even if only for the ratings.

Bill was technically correct in that the attackers were Muslims. Obviously, all people of that faith did not attack or condone the attack, but the ones that did were using their faith as the major reason for attacking. This is the main reason most Americans feel a new nearby mosque is inappropriate.

I have been saying this for months now. Being in the armed forces i can tell you that none of us hate muslims who practice love and unity, we hate the people who would use this faith as a means to kill or destroy. I'm all for people building mosques, just not at ground zero. It is extremely indelicate. If we were to bomb their biggest buildings, then build a Christian church beside it, I wonder what their reaction would be? I know the answer....it would be fire bombed. I constantly hear people saying that people with this view are bigots, well we are not! We are realists who will not be bent over like this. This is like one man sleeping with another man's wife, then afterward suggesting that they can all live under the same roof together. The world doesn't work like that, nor should it. Think of how the families of the victims of 9/11 feel...It's like a trophy is being erected where some of there loved ones still lie...this is wrong on so many levels. Build the mosque....just somewhere else.

Last time I checked the terrorists were muslim! I have yet to hear any prominent muslim community leader come out and publicly condemn terrorists for casting their religion in such a bad light, until a majority of regular everyday muslims come forth to do so I am convinced they believe in what the terrorist muslims are doing.

There are a lot of overlaps between the major who murdered soldiers at Fort Hood and 9/11. As he shot one unarmed victim after another he yelled "Allahu akbar" which gives religious motivation to his actions.

That is not good. If all one billion Muslims were like that you would be fighting what we call WW3!!!! There are Christian terrorists, jewish ones, and many more. The worlds terrorists are not all muslim. Ive been to and fought in many countries, let me tell you that there is good and evil in all ethnic groups. You are being obtuse. I dont dislike muslims, I dislike terrorists, OF ALL RELIGIONS. What about catholic priests molesting kids?? I would call that a form of terrorism too....I think you need to take a look at facts here. There are MANY well known Muslims who have condemned the attacks...you just have not seen or heard them. The last time i was in Afghanistan, I spoke with several clerics who were completely against the attacks. You need to do more research.

Unfortunately though it is the very tenants of the Quar-an that make all of Islam our enemy no matter how any individual Muslim thinks!

When a "BIBLE" of any religion like the Quar-an spells it out clearly that a 'Good Islamic' will, kill, lie, steal, victimize, tax, subjugate, and violently violate infidels "In the name of God," "Allah," or "the Spaghetti Monster" that religion should not be tolerated.

Historically Islam destroys former holy sites of the Infidel and builds Mosques on them to impose their power and will. it is evident that people either choose to ignore that or they are too stupid and blinded by the Ideals of Tolerance to see the evil lurking among us.

If Islam were to toss aside the Quar-qan and embrace more tolerant teachings I would then feel comfortable with them around. Seeing how Modern Islamic Nations conduct themselves though is like watching a slow burning atrocity. So what Whoopie Goldberg lost it with her little friend. It is clear the Beyatch don't know as much as she thinks she THINKS she knows. Worst is she demonstrated how belligerent and idealistic the Left Wing community really is.

America is being run by Idealists with no common sense. Look at what we got now. A country being run into the ground by 600 know it all idiots!

Frankly shame on Whoopie Goldberg, shame on Joy Behar. Those two should be ashamed of themselves!

I have wondered this for years and here is as good a place to ask as any because I keep hearing it repeated since the proposal for the muslim center....

my question is,,,,, why do people believe that the attackers used their faith as a reason? I ask because there were no survivors to relate what they said or didnt say during the attack and I dont recall Osama Bin Laden giving some exclusive implying in his 'confessions' that Allah was a reason or a motivation , but I do recall the pretty lengthy political and historical contexts he used

if anyone needs refreshing

,,,yes, they were murderers and extremists but there was more politics involved in their attacks than religion,,,,in my opinion

how many muslim communities have you visited? and which muslim network do they have to 'come out' on?...are americans watching muslim networks or american news?

how would we possibly know if and how many muslims have spoken out if they dont control the media which reports such things?

I have no great love for O'Reilly but it was not worth walking
out over. Whoopie and Joy just looked petty and stupid.

Barbara was the only one who seemed normal.

She pointed out that they were extremists after all
and O'Reilly says - Yes, of course they were and he was
not trying to insult all Muslims and for once I believed
him. Then Goldberg and Behar come back on like two year
olds...

typical o'reily tactics..why trouble yourself with an honest debate when you can bully your views instead...?

the guy got to say what he wanted and continues to be the golden boy-wonder of the conservative ditto heads.
