Suppose you were talking to someone on another site using the IM service...things are going good, then you get a message from them in your inbox...a continuation of the conversation you are having in the IM box. THEN they suddenly sign off. What do you make of it?

sounds a little shady. wait until you can ask them what happened and then decide if you're comfortable with their answer enough to keep chatting.

The fact that this person sent a message to your inbox after chatting through IM (hypotheticaly), implies IM or 'net issues. Then the sudden sign-off would lead me to believe 'net or PC issues. If a person is willing to condemm another without knowing the facts, they are better off without that person. |

If a person is willing to condemm another without knowing the facts, they are better off without that person. That is a possibility too. Not saying I would condemn them for issues beyond their control, but in my experience it has not been technical difficulties as much as a****** issues. |

or they're at work and their boss walked in. I think it does happen - my ex boyfreind did that at work - he'd sneak into the back of a semi near a load of his to call me, but he'd always warn me that he'd have to hang up if anyone came

Once again...hypothetical situation, didn't really happen. If this really happened to me, I would be calling them nonstop until they answered
