Senate ratifies nuke pact, delivering win to Obama

WASHINGTON – The Senate on Wednesday ratified an arms control treaty with Russia that reins in the nuclear weapons that could plunge the world into doomsday, giving President Barack Obama a major foreign policy win in the closing hours of the postelection Congress.

Thirteen Republicans broke with their top two leaders and joined 56 Democrats and two independent in providing the necessary two-thirds vote to approve the treaty. The vote was 71-26.

Regardless of what the vote is, "Doomsday" will always be on the horizon.

Such negativity!

You should ask your Repub Representatives why they don't vote their own mind more often.

Even with all that Obama has accomplished in 2 years,
think of what could have been had the Party of NO not impeded the process.

Mr. Tea Party himself, Scott Brown of (R)Massachusetts was one of them.

The Tea Party winners in the mid-term elections said,
they will not vote with the Repub party on every issue.

They say they have their own voice and won't follow the party of no in blocking issues important to the countries recovery.

Those who think the Repub Party came away from the mid-terms with a victory, might just find they were really the losers.

I think the Admin will get the votes they need to accomplish their goals and the Party of NO will have to reevaluate their strategy.

this is classic..

you think the new republicans are going to vote for the left wingers bills?

you can't be serious..

If the people wanted more of the same they would have just re elected the dumbos.

the new members won't toe the party line if the leadership tries to run the congress like they did when Bush was in office.

that doesn't mean they will side with Obama.. LMAO.. A rude awakening is coming, but it isn't going to be for those of us that want some fning fiscal conservatism.
