Pretty impressive.. Here are Obama’s thoughts on the debt limit in 2006, when he voted against increasing the ceiling: "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. The increase in debt since Obama took office was a necessary.
Whether a Dem or Repub had taken office behind Bush and they would have had to either increase the debt to pay for our recovery, or turned a blind eye on the American people. Unemployment would have went astronomical before our economy had fixed itself. If the Republicans would care more about that than they do shifting the blame for this mess, then just think how much more Obama could have done. I mean he already made history with all he has done. Get the party of no on America's side and think of the possibilities. |

If what you are saying is true the republicans wouldn't have won 63 House seats. You can shift the blame all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that our debt is $14 trillion. Obama has been in office almost 2 years and the economy is still a shambles. You can blame this or that, but he is in charge and economy is going to get worse. Rising food and gas prices are going to be the final nail in the coffin. The debt game has been played, it didn't work and now someone is going to have to clean off the board. |

I think its time to tax the rich not give them tax cuts. They are the only ones who have benefited in this crappy economy they created by offshoreing jobs and pushing down the wages of the middle class and its purchaseing power.

My Federal Taxes just went up $400 a year. That's $33 less take home per month. Everyone else should be seeing it soon too. Why have the talking heads on FOX not reported on this 24/7? Where are the Republicans? Where is the TEA Party when you need them? WTF!!! |
