Each to their own I guess.

Indeed it seems to be so

although I respect you for doing something to make someone else happy
I may be selfish in that respect cause if I don't want to do it I usually wont

I just don't like putting sentimental value into THINGS

I see to many people who get worked up to easily about stuff and forget it is the experience and memory that matters most

Okami, this is not about you.

This is about Twilights boyfriend.

I would think after dating the man for two years, she knows he wears jewely.

@Katie, trust your instincts, I'm sure you are on the right path.

I have to admit I thought the promise ring thing was a homosexual thing. No offense I guess I just don't get out much. I am not found of jewelery so I wouldn't care for it but each it's own......smokin

Newark I agree

But if your doing it to make someone happy then fine thread starter go for it your man obviously likes it

I just follow my Manly to unmanly ratio rule when I do such things lol

Well, I don't have a promise ring but I have a couples ring. My girl is Korean and its kind of a Korean thing to wear a ring if you are dating. I did it at first because she was already kind of pissed about how I didn't do things like Korean guys so I let her have her way on this one. My friends never gave me any trouble over it even when I went to the US. I just said what it was and that it was a Korean thing and then no more comments on it.

I don't really get promise rings. Is a ring really needed to show you're eventually going to get engaged? Or that you're waiting for marriage? If it's the former, I don't understand the pre-engagement ring thing. And if it's the latter, I don't understand wearing jewelry to show that.

My little brother wears his promise ring all the time. It's very popular down in Brazil (according to his girlfriend, who is from there) And they've been dating since they were in highschool. It's not to show that they'll get engaged or even married.

But it does for some reason mean that the wearer is off the market. Or maybe that's just my eventual sister to be interpretation.

I got the latest one. I was not actually available so it took a while to reply.

It went mia while I was at work. How rude.

Another thread upstairs went MIA too for a time, from what I gather, then it came back after it was edited of some posts. Maybe the same thing goes for your thread. :)

I dunno to me its like "were not married" but I am so into you & love you so much...its not a pre-engagement ring sorta thing. I would never propose...Im old fashioned that way. Ive been wearing my ring for a solid year, and Im proud of it. People ask about it and I am proud to say I got it from him. I feel the commitment on the inside and its just a little way of showing it on the outside.

I forgot how to put a pic on here...but the ring itself looks awesome ( i think! ).
