As a Mother or a woman NOW,,Could you ladies please tell me IF,,I might have the right inner mind of thoughts here.
With a question I recently asked a woman friend,,and her answer surprised me..

IS IT a BIG time,,for a woman to have remembered her AGE,,when she started her monthly cycle?

I have always thought that IT WAS?

But now,,I wanted to just ask all of YOU HERE..
And this forum,,works for that I believe as some of you might have a more fresher memory of your own conversations with your children,,about their time starting...

WAS THAT,,,something that ALL WOMEN,,just KNOW,,what age THEY STARTED AT?

i think it's different for everyone...some families make a big deal about it, some just let it take it's course.

it wasn't a big deal to me or to mine.

I'm not exactly sure what your question is here.. but yes I think most women remember when they did and when their daughters do. It's actually somewhat important to know medically as some things such as risk for breast cancer can be an impact from what age a woman started menses as well as other things.

I know it was a long damn time ago and I'm just tickled I don't have them any more...I've never remembered how old I was, never thought about it.

At the time it happens I think most girls are thrilled because it officially makes them a woman. Then a few years later we wonder what the hell were we thinking? frustrated

Personally,

I don't see a young girl as a woman

just because she starts her cycle.

Her body is showing "signs of development"

towards womanhood.

Age 10-13yrs is about average starting time.

She's got a long process to go through.

Development covers a wide spectrum,

both mental and physical.

It's a really difficult time of her life

A time when she needs communication

with her mom.

It's a shame that preditors target these girls

at this stage of life.

Just because THIS is an ODD question,,and SOME have seen a desire to lead it into something more,,,
After having many conversations with a friend of mine(female) and as to her complete child-hood memories,,as her father was a PERVERT
and sexually assulted her
and her not having ANY IDEA as to when she had started her's,,I felt MAYBE,,,that was because she was already being rapped by him then. And didn't or couldn't remember THAT,,because of THAT..
Because in my mind and all my girl (friends) talking to me through life,,even today,,almost ALL of them,,could tell ANYONE in a heart beat,,their age when they started,,,so as to TEST THAT IDEA OF THOUGHT,,,that ALL WOMEN HAVE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA (HOW OLD THEY WERE) when that happened to them,,,I ran this post as an average thought of all of YOUR thoughts here,,,as to IF it was an age YOU KNEW,,in growing up,,WITHOUT wrong being done to you..
as THAT would help me to know HER truth that happen..OK?
Just my own head trip,,trying to understand her mind,,THEN..

How aweful!!!

If your friend is unable to recall
when her cycle started...

and you say that she may have been sexually assaulted
by her very own father,

Why, it stands to reason
that she can't remember the start of her cycle.

He took away her innocence.
She was thrust forward in her developmental stages
and traumatized into a whole other state of mind.
She was forced to mentally bypass the memory of
her natural youthful milestones.

My prayers are with her.

I was a late bloomer, actually. I didn't start my monthly cycle until I was sixteen, and I didn't really get my womanly characteristics until I was 18.

Odd fact, I started on Halloween. Lamest halloween besides the one where I had chicken pox.

But it's not as important to remember when you started. THE MAIN reason, at least for me, was that I needed to start my annual exam and all that nonsense after I hit 20. -Shrug-

Thank you all for helping me in this more or less survey of your importance to know that age in which you started..And out of all of these,,and even the ones who said it wasn't really a THING for them to FEEL they NEEDED to mark the Calendar with,,THEY STILL knew their age ,,when THAT HAPPEN to them,,so,,thank you all for your replies..

No, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I don't know the exact age.

I must not be like most girls. I never really thought most women thought that much about this. I have no clue what I was doing at the time.

I grew with two older sisters,,and I raised a daughter..and I knew all of them just KNEW,,their ages,,
And talking as an older teenager hanging out with many friends,,all the girls IF,,that came up,,would speak their age when that happen,,and mostly complaining:angry: about it,,lol..
But I just learned through asking here,,and with some (other) female friends that your doctor will always ask THAT?,,and I never realized that until this thought..Meaning my other friend who this is about,,must not pay regular visits with hers? Because she had not,,even a REMOTE guess as to when she started? Which is my reasoning for asking here..... Thanks again...

spock mmmmmmmmmmm, now I have to go back to the draw board,,,wink, lol, I would THINK,,that IF,,she had PE,,in school by then? THAT is where she would for sure remember or not,,well,,if they were like my growing up days and everyone had to shower for gym? But I shall note this Lulu,,and thanks,,
