my name is chirs, i am three,
my eyes are swollen, i cannot see,
i must be stupid, i must be bad,
what else could have made my daddy mad?
i wish i was better, i wish i werent ugly,
then maybe my mommy wud still like hug me.
i cant do a wrong, i cant speak at all,
or else im locked up all day long.
when im awake im all alone,
the house is dark, my folks arent home,
when my mommy does come home,
i'll try to be nice,
so maybe ill just get one whipping tonight.
i just heard the car, my dady is back from charlies bar.
i hear him curse, my name is called,
i press myself against the wall,
i try to hide from his evil eyes,
i am so afraid now, im starting to cry,
he finds me weeping, he calls me ugly words.
he says its my fault, he suffers at work.
he slaps and hits me, and yells at me more,
i finally get free, and run to the door,
he's already locked it,and i start to bawl,
he takes me and throws me, against the hard wall,
i fall to the floor, with my bones nearly broken,
and my daddy continues, with more bad words spoken,
"im sorry", i scream, buts its now much to late,
my face has been twisted, into a unimaginable shape,
the hurt the pain, again and again,
oh please god,have mercy,
oh please let it end! and he finally stops,
and heads for the door, while i lay there motionless,
sparwled on the floor.
my name is Chris, i am three,
tonight my daddy murdered me, and you can help,
sickens me to the soul, and if you read this,
and dont pass it on, i pray for your forgivness,
because you would have to be one heartless person,
to not be effected, by this poem
and because YOUR AGAINST CHILD ABUSE!
PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS,
AND PASS IT ON!! REPOST THIS AS,
no kid should have to go through this....

I got this as an email..
we should stop this..
when we see someone in the store..
or any place let this be heard..
I understand as a parent that we need to
teach and guide our children..
but they are not the problem
when a bad day occurs..
or problems pop their ugly head in..
So many times we see this and we
say there is nothing that we can do..
i disagree and will stand up for any
child I see that is being mistreated..
This hit me hard, but people of JSH..
we are small but can make the difference..
(sorry if this upsetting to anyone that has gone through
this.. But this is reality and it is only getting worse..
so stand up and express your god giving right to say stop
the next time you witness this type of action anywhere at any time..)

I have been told so many times it is not my place and I shouldnt have said anything but when I see something like that happening I think of my lil girl and how fast I would kill somebody if they ever laid a hand on her.....the looks on the parents faces when somebody actually steps in and stops them when they are doing this is priceless....our children do not deserve to be treated this way...and the ones that are that survive it normally turn out to have so much hate inside of them towards people its unreal

I agree we need to help to stop this when we see it. But let me give a word of caution also. And this comes from experience too.

If you are int he store, you need to remind yourself that a slap on the hand is not abuse (most places), nor is a swat on the butt, or telling your child to be quiet when they are screaming, just to throw some ocmmon issues out there.

I was i the store one day, and my son had grabbed a candy bar and opened it while I was reaching for somethign ont he top shelf and was distracted. I told him to give it to me, then told him not to take soemthign again as it is stealing, and slapped his hand for it. I had another guy try and take a swing at me for quote "abusing" my son. I will be honest, I told the guy to mind his own business or I would show him what "abuse" really is. Then I went got management and had him escorted from the store.

As I said above, we do need to step in if we see somethign happening, but keep in mind that not everyone agrees on what abuse is, and in most cases a slap on the hand, or even the cheek for back talking is not abuse. And that is by state legal definition.

As a Foster parent for 30 years I can tell you a slap on Butt is not abuse. If you see somehting you think might be abuse, call the police or your local Child Protection Agency.
There are all kinds of abuse & they will check it out.
They wont remove the kids unless they are in danger, but parents
might get the help they need.
Thank you lazyj for posting this.

I was part of a collaborative art show called Domestic Violence a few years ago. I found the statistics heartbreaking and staggering and it has to stop. There have to be voices for the voiceless.

Water, the element that can wash us clean, can, if given enough time, cut a canyon through the landscape. Tears borne of pain scar both the individual and the collective of humanity in much the same way.

I have a deep sadness for what is and a longing for what ought to be. We are all human. That should be enough. Parts of our collective are not always humane and that affects us all.

The violence has to stop.

i've seen this several times and have not yet read it down to the end for certain reasons. My kids may do some real stupid things but I would never beat them. I love them so much.

I will say anything to any one who is feaking out on their kids...

Have been told to mind my own business..only once...

Other times i try to distract the child and hi or her behavior cause I can see the parent is upset...the child stops...the parent thanks me greatfully..

I just love when ppl lock their kids in the car to run in a store or a post office...or pumping their gas...in the heat..especially...with no windows down...I always say somethime...and I don't agree with keeping kids in the car while parent goes into a store...if the child is sleeping..hello..do the task another time..or wake the child up...

I don't care what ppl say negatively...if its really bad...I will call the police...

I turned in my bro's g/f to the police and children and youth for doing drugs while pregnant...

My sons school called children and youth for his my ex's f'ed up so called parenting discipline on my son when he was 7...

He was warned...I told him to u stop..or I will go after u...he was just a litle child for got sakes...

It still breaks my heart..cause i had to send him for his visitation...

or my ex would have dragged us through hell...

He did stop.never hit either of my sons again...

He knew I wasn't kidding regardless of what he did to me in return...

oh man...

yes..
ppl.. you have every right to say something..
i don't think there is any law that says you can't say something..
in a court of law there is no judge that will side against you for saying something..
please ppl stop abuse..on each other..
and specially our young ones..

Modern days & attornies have changed the way child/spouse abuse is handled. Used to be people of a town saw these wrongs going on, a group of concerned people would go talk to the person. A second "conversation" was much different, & there never seemed to be a third, people must have left town, cause they were never seem again. Lawsuits & attornies have changed all this.

OLD WAYS sometimes still the best way.

Clinton's said it quite well, something like "it takes a whole village to raise a child"

Best thing I heard them say.

This is truly very sad...as a teacher I have had to report numerous child abuse cases from dear angels that confided in me! It ripped my heart out because after they tell me they plead and cry for me to keep it a secret of which I cannot do! This happened twice just this last school year. An innocent angel asked me if a spanking was suppose to bleed???????
I can't even put into words what she showed me after that. I stayed in tears for weeks.

I've had parent conferences where one parent pleads for no homework to be sent or the other parent will beat the child for asking for help. I've had parents show up drunk saying they don't understand why they can't hit their kids and I just sit there stunned and very disgusted. So every year when I receive a new batch of God's little angels, I vow to myself to be an angel TO THEM every second they are in my care!

see..
we all have seen it or experianced this..
omg.. how can i ever look into a childs eyes and see that pain, fear, and the not understanding..of why this is happening to them.. shouldn't we be a strong hold.. i have had many situations that i felt compelled to do something and I did..
Ussually the parents resonse was hey this is none of your buisness..my response well I am making it my buisness and lets get this kid something nice.. I am buying..
My daughters are always with me and they help.. I don't fight this problem with anger i fight it with love. I will never forget the eyes of the children I have come across.. the look of hey mister you are all right to the look of i think i better not because i think i am going to get into trouble.. WTF i hate to see that.. that look of fear of everything nice and kind..
How dare you people that do this to your child.. How dare you rap them of themselves.. how dare you take away their life.
