You don't know cats very well. That cat was trying to figure out how to pick that meal up and drag it home. Trust me. I have 7 cats and they drag home the darnest things. The fawn was just too large, but that cat sure wanted a piece of it.

laugh laugh

I felt sorry for that poor dog. But Mama deer was protecting her fawn. That dog would have chased it just for fun I'm sure. To the mother, that dog was a wolf looking for a meal. A very brave deer.

A lot of these fluffy, furry, cute critters that we assume are so helplees are not nearly as defenseless as we think. I once caught a cute sqirrel in a butterfy net when I was a kid. I didn't know that squirrels have such nasty, sharp claws and teeth. Quite a surprise.

Well I've seen a lot of cats with their prey and I've seen cats grooming each other, and that cat was not grooming. Grooming involves licking.

The cat was clearly trying to decide where to grab hold of that prey. (I think the cat thought she could handle the size.) Cats don't just go up to a strange animal and start grooming it.

at the very beginning, it looks to me as if the cat is licking the fawn's head and face.

then again, upon rewatching, she might be playing as with a mouse. i still think the very beginning looks like grooming, but after that, it doesn't. it doesn't look harmful, though, either. not like she's ready to pounce.

I've seen that. That cat is not grooming. laugh That cat is treating that dolphin as it would treat a human. (Trying to make friends.)

Cats are very friendly to humans if they are not wild. (Farrel cats) That cat probably grew up around the ocean and dolphins.

Also some mother cats will adopt strange babies.

What people don't understand is that the number one predator of deer species are Canids, wolves and coyotes to be specific, and to a deer you little fluffy is the same as a wolf!

Thats what I said.

Fluffy the cat, was a mountain lion, Rex the wonder dog was a wolf. I could see that the deer was more worried about the dog and attacked it right away. The cat did not get attacked by the deer right away. The deer just threatened it. THEN the cat clawed the deer and that's when the deer got more serious about attacking the cat.

The deer said: "CLAW ME WILL YOU? Now you're asking for it!"laugh laugh

Yeah little kitty fluff fluff was sizing the fawn up, did you notice how its approach to the fawns head was almost reptile like?
