i typed this by simply speaking into my new phone

This part is typed the old way. I know no one really cares about my new phone, I just wanted to see if I could post this way. Sorry for the distraction.

Well, now you've got me very ticked off!! I must ask my BF to buy me one of those newfangled phones!!! rofl That's actually really cool!! What kind of phone is it? I used to talk to a woman who had arthuritis so bad in her hands that she used a tennis ball with a pencil stuck through it so she could grasp the ball & type with the pencil. Was very painful for her to get on the PC & chat with anyone & she lived alone so the PC was her main companion. I could see something like that being a big help to some people who's hands for whatever reason prevents them from participating in conversations, etc.

I'm on my computer now.

The phone is the G2.

I paid $50.00 for the phone, but had to sign a two year contract.

That is a good deal. But, I won't go with contracts. Been burnt on those before with poor service & losing money. But, I could see where it would be useful.

I didn't want to go contract. I've been prepay for several years. But, I've taken a job where I'll be traveling across the country and I needed a phone service with good coverage all over the place.

I did a lot of research, looking at what other travelers used and liked. I found out AT&T has the best nation wide coverage with Version being second. AT&T bought T-Mobile, so I'll be on AT&T's networks.

Something else I can do with this phone is use it like a wifi hot spot. I can use it to surf the web with my laptop from anyplace I can get a signal. It won't be as fast as my home connection, but it's better than nothing.

It aquisition of TMobile is not official yet...
I just switched to Tmobile from AT&T after being with them for 8 years. So far I am extremely happy with TMOBILE. But At&t was great too, but Tmobiles phone and prices cant be beat. They definately have the coolest phones. and FREE GPS....
Lets just hope AT& T doesnt screw all that up!

That has nothing to do with their service. It's a bussiness. You don't pay your bill on time you don't talk. You wouldn't go in the grocery store & load up on groceries, carry them out telling them you'll be back the next day to pay. That's just good bussiness sense!!
