pretty cool read guys

I had a place in Ohio where my property was next to a horse trail and stables. When I was home (traveled a lot) we use to go out almost every night and have a camp fire. Camp fire, guitar and horses. A good time.

thanks for painting a great picture

What do you do on your weekends? Do you have a summer routine of cooking out and swimming? That's what I do, what do you do?

A dip in the pool about every hour then chill with some music while checking out mingle sounds like a great plan to me.

made some adjustments to my scooter this afternoon. then i went for 110 mile ride. time well spent.

Nice new pic Simone

thanks, it's a couple years old, but that McAleud? or whatever from the other thread about finding a flaw, has his bird in his pic, and I got jealous and remembered how much I missed my bird....that my ex let fly outside. I hadnt clipped his wings, we had such nice high vaulted ceilings. I said, dont open the door till I put the bird in his cage..cuz we were leaving, and normally when we are home I let the bird roam free. Anyways, I miss my bird...so thats the story behind the pic. tears

Love your horses Equus, esp the one on our right, your left, with the white strip, so beautiful.

Thanks! He'll (Gentry) be 3 on Monday. And I was very pleased with him, considering he didn't get a whole lot of teaching for basics, much less baths. Some wiggling and fussing, but overall, he did good for his bath.

Chance enjoys his baths, and comes up daily for a hose-down in this heat.

Oh he's a baby...so gorgeous. We live in a big city, but we have some great stables right up the street..next to "our central park" it also has horse trails and stuff. They let me walk through with my daughters and pet the horses a lot. they rescue horses and also house a lot of privately owned horses from our neighborhoods as well. We love going in there...its really good therapy for us since my divorce...

Sounds like a wonderful place, and I definitely agree with horse therapy! Chance was my rock when I broke up with the screwy ex. Helped me work through a lot of the emotions. The other animals did too, but he was the biggest help.

yeah, we have a white horse over there, she was a rescue horse, but her name is sugar, we spend a lot of time with her since she is an orphan-so to speak....I tell the kids sometimes in life, we get to start things all over, Just like Sugar probably once had a family and started over, we are starting over as a new family too. We get to ride them and pet them and talk with them. It has been really good for me and all three kids....My daughter got thrown from a horse last friday night for the first time. That was crazy--like I was watching in slow motion or something. Her arm hurt for a couple days but she is fine now. One of the women there who rides often was very kind and told her to get back up on that horse and show her who's boss. She didnt but she says she still wants to go back and ride, so that is a good sign.

Good for your daughter! I'm amazed looking back at some of the screwy things I did on horseback and happened on horseback, its a wonder I survived. How old is Sugar?

Gentry was a rescue as well, mild neglect, though in the end, I think enough to have stunted his growth. The woman was sending him to the stockyards to sell for meat but ended up giving him to me. He's nice and glossy and roly-poly now.

Cute cockatiel. I have a 17year old grey male named Bek. Along with a Patagonian Conure and a Quaker Parrot.

Nice MG! Love trail-riding, though doing the campfire thing usually meant Chance was stretched out as far as he could on his leadline to beg for marshmellows. LOLI Love that silly horse, but he can and will eat anything edible.

Weekends are pretty much the same for me as any other day. I write some stuff, I putz around on the computer, watch TV, take a walk, go back and write more stuff.

There really isn't anything else to do around here, and there's nobody to do it with!

Well, it really isn't about need -- but it would be nice to spend some time with a living, breathing person in real life every now and then....
