So as of Monday Morning (8/22/2011) gold had reached an all time high.

At $1890.00 an ounce, will you be selling or hording your gold?

If the American dollar totally crashes, think the international market will return to the gold standard?

I think I'll buy a pan and and go to the river and pan for gold. Or maybe I will get a metal detector that finds gold and go hunting.

Panning for gold used to be hard because the small amount you found would only give you small earnings, but now you will make more.

The price of gold will not go down much unless the value of the dollar goes up. It is not gold that changes in price, its the value of the dollar. I don't see that going up very much. In the long run, it could become worthless.

The value of gold is a constant. It is used in technology as well as jewelry. But Jewelry is not the reason gold is valuable, and technology has not always been around.
