A friend of mine left his wife because she gained 50 pounds during thier marriage....she was skinny when she met him but of course gained weight with each pregnancy.....WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS???
I think its low and a betrayal..what ever happened to for "better or worse"??

P.S.. But she lost all the weight 2 years after the divorce and looks great...he asked her back..she said no.....hahahaha..good for him!! sorry.. a little upset..

Good for her for saying no..he's obviously an idiot..weight can be lost..as she did..but apparently he was born without common sense..and decentcy..that can't be gained!

He must not of truly loved her, then. I know the whole physical attraction thing, but for goodness sakes...the woman had his spawn!!
Personally,I think that if he REALLY,TRULY loved her,her weight gain wouldn't of got his panties in a bunch,so to speak!

And,you're right.. good for her!!! If I was her I wouldn't take his sorry butt back, either!!!

That is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Too many people are looking for a trophy and not a partner. Serves him right and good for her!

I don't think anyone should give up on their partner just because they gain some weight. However, weight gain is sometimes a symptom of something else — sometimes depression or feelings of low self worth. The root cause can sometimes be the real problem, and can tear a couple apart. Was your friend happy before the divorce? Was she happier two years later when she started losing the extra weight? Would she have lost the weight at that time had she still been married, or was it because she was "back on the market?" Marriage can make people complacent, and men and women alike often stop putting the effort into personal upkeep for their spouse that they would have put into a new relationship. I'm not saying your friend's ex-husband was at all justified in his actions, but the issue may have been a lot deeper than her weight gain.

No one should do anything to change themselves for another person..if YOU are happy with YOURSELF and its not affecting your health you should be whatever size you want to be!

Thanks resserts..u always have good posts...she was happy both ways i think...she always was comfortable with herself even when she was heavy..but when he left her over THAT..thats when she got depressed..but it worked out for her in the end i guess..

Sexual attraction remains important in a relationship, but after a couple of years it's role starts to diminish. By the time there are kids, other aspects of the relationship begin to develop. It sounds like the guy to whom your friend was married hadn't grown much at all. Had he been patient and more understanding, she likely would have lost the weight much more quickly. Some form of physical attraction remains important, but it ceases to be the dominant factor at some point.

Wouldn't matter to me, I mean when you love somebody and you share and have kids to start a family then it's bound to happen to have kids and all and put on some weight etc that is.

This guy is just right out stuiped and probably feels even stuiper now then he had then. IF only he would have waited and stuck in the relationship.

Oh well his lost.
