In dateing situations how do you determine who and what you give a person as a holiday rememberance?

Well, when I used to celebrate Christmas and actually gave gifts; it was always a gift card. I couldn't be bothered to hit the malls and look around; just too much of a waste of my time.

Depends how long we've been together. Usually a card, something humorous. Anything longer would be a gift of some sort.

Huh? I don't understand... I give according to how my heart my heart leads me.
Is there another way?

I wouldn't buy him a gift regardless of how long we'd been together.

I would either cook him a special meal or take him out..dinner etc.

Interesting responses. Generally it has to do with how much a person means to me but giving small gifts to me is fun so often even mild interest might result in a modest gift even if it were not a holiday.

I agree personal gifts of effort to give my time and skill , or buy something meaningful to them, generally are for significant others.

At one time in my life orthopedic shoes would be dissappointing but now a truely comfortable pair of shoes would seem a great kindness/love gesture. guess that is a maturity factor as is budgeting such luxuries.

I think it is interesting that no-one suggested "romance" . maybe many are in long distance like at this stage and not love?

Now here is a man that gets what Christmas is about. Something you can't put a price tag on.

I am cheap and poor.

So I just gotta give everything that I am as a person, to the people that I have chosen to love.....

But, I don't just do it at Christmas.....I try to do it every day.

It don't seem hard.

Be a good person today....be a better person tommorrow.

My Dad taught me that.

Well, my parents never taught me that but I figured that out for myself.
