In all technicalities though Jesus didn't do anything wrong on the Sabbath, even if it would have been someone else doing it. Jesus was neither working, nor was he laboring when he was doing the healing. JESUS was trying to show then that he was LORD EVEN OVER THE SABBATH.....and that those who BELIEVE ON HIM AND RECEIVE HIM , ENTER into a PERMANENT SABBATH REST ...A REST FOUND ONLY IN CHRIST JESUS. Sabbath is not just a day of rest, it is a day of total worship without thought of outside thoughts eg., money. That is why there is one day set aside specifically for this. It's not just a day of rest, it's a day of worship. There is no bartering on the Sabbath, so what you're saying is if we're in a "permanent" Sabbath, we are never to barter. You are not understanding what I am saying Cowboy. We NOW have a rest in Jesus FOREVER...because we are now born again, and God is IN us ...we worship Him ALWAYS , not just one day.... His Praise is CONTINUE ON OUR LIPS.....we STAY in a stste of prayer..etc etec etc. The most important thing is knowing and understanding God is ONE...and also understanding about Salvation being a free gift of Grace, and not by works....... the rest follows, as God will make it clear as one grows in the Word...... Jesus is Lord over the sabbath. Yes Miles...even over the Sabbath... Jessu IS our Sabbath rest now , after we become born again. And EVERY day is Holy unto the Lord now..not just one..there is a CCNTINUAL REST in Jesus now.... That was why Jesus healed on the sabbath....and the pharisees and saducees had a hissy fit....becase they did not know who He realy was.. that He was God with us ...and Lord even over the sabbath...Lord over all.. and now ALLLLL the law and the prophets hang on these 2 commandments now, that Jesus gave: Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and mind and soul... Love thy neighbor as thyself. Thses 2 commandments FULFILL ALL the law and the prophets...incuding keepin the sabbath. God's law is now written on the tablets of a born again christian's heart...cause God reside in our heart..the same God who is Lord over all.....even the sabbath. Why does there always seem to be so much confleck serounding these conversations? the fact is we know very little of what GOD knows and know matter how you put it in the end it still go's his way.You may be very surprized at what changes will acure you can guess all you want because when it comes to the past thats all were really doing any way is guessing we were not there.The way i look at it Jesus was put here to make some big changes and one of the bigest after giving his own life is.Him saying hey people i am going to make things much more simple,instead of 10 comandments it comes to two Love GOD with all his heart which inclouds the beliefe of Jesus to and love your naber 2nd as well.That means you dont go killing any one dont blam him for some hing he didnt do dont do his wife lol if we truely love each other we wouldnt do these things.Thank you for taking the time to read this.Martin

We are not under law but under grace now. Again....The law is written on the tablets of the born again believers heart now. God's love is in our heart now..... we love God and our neighbor becasue of Gods' Love in us now.... and therefore,we won't want to displease or disobey God or harm our neighbor... and we have a REST in Jesus now. Jesus says," Enter into My REST." Amen. thier was not grace in the Ot? huh There was grace in the OT, but they weren't under the grace of God, they were under the law. To receive Heaven one had to do the works to earn such a gift. Now we receive Heaven by Grace, Jesus did the work for us. |

But to answer the question of the thread. The "Sabbath" was part of the mosaic law, which has been fulfilled. And as far as I know, there is nothing specifics about keeping a specific day holy eg., 7th day, the Sabbath, ect. Romans 14:5 5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. \ a couple of things.. Yahshua said the son of man had no place to lay his head.. so he was homeless.. if you know the law then the fields were to be left grain in the corners for people like him.. also the ox in the ditch.. he wasa saying way more than that.. it was the the duty of everyone to have the ditch protected that the ox would not fall in the ditch.. they all knew the law. no where does it say we are not to keep the sabbath? well throw this out then. Heb 4:7-13 "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts." 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of Elohim. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as Yahweh did from His. 11 The Word Discovers Our Condition Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Acts 15:18-21 18 "Known to Yahweh from eternity are all His works. 19 Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to Yahweh, 20 but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city , being read in the synagogues every Sabbath." NKJV New Believers.. they did not need to burden them.. why? Because moses is preached in EVERY city. when on the Sabbath. So how clear can it be New Believers were told to keep the Sabbath.. Point being, this discussion was on the law(s) of keeping the Sabbath or not, is not a topic for discussing any other law(s). Even Jesus and the disciples did "work" on the Sabbath. COMMANDMENTS JESUS GAVE US....WHICH FULFILLS ALLLLLL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS. Heck you had the answer in your post. FULFILLS ALL the law and the prophets. Do you understand what "fulfills" means? It means to complete, to finish. Once it is completed or finished it no longer has power over us. Jesus fulfilled, completed, finalized the old covenant. The new covenant does not institute the day of the "Sabbath". Again, that is in the mosaic law, which you know has been fulfilled, and again the new covenant does not state to keep the 7th day holy eg., the Sabbath. Matthew 12:1-8 tells of Jesus and the disciples doing work on the Sabbath, and Jesus explains why it is ok. |

Miles...HebrewS 4...is about entering into that sabbath REST, found only in Christ Jesus. But we have to be saved first ( born again ), in order to be able to ENTER into that rest . (Those with the hardened hearts , are those who REFUSE to believe and accept Jesus (salvation ),and thus, will NOT enter that sabbath rest,found only in Christ Jesus !!!! ) We cannot do this with our old nature...but ony thru our new nature,or we able to enter into that rest in Jesus.... casue God THEN is LIVING IN us. Jesus (Word ) came in the flesh in the NT....and brought us a new covenant.... and gave us 2 new commandments..which Fulfil ALL the law and the prophets. When we accept Jesus into our heart ( born again ), we are now under Grace. And when we are born again,we now ARE ABLE TO KEEP GOD'S LAW ....BECAUSE THE LAW IS NOW WRITTEN ON THE TABLETS OF OUR HEART.....AS A RESULT OF JESUS NOW LIVING IN US.....AND HIS LOVE BEING IN OUR HEART NOW... ON THOSE 2 NEW COMMANDMENTS JESUS GAVE, HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS !!! THAT IS HOW NOT ONE NIT OR TIDDLE OF THE LAW IS EVER DONE AWAY WITH...OR EVER PASSES AWAY....OR SHALL EVER PASS AWAY....EVER !!! AMEN!
