I know that writers, like (some) artists, tend to work in isolation I just imagined that there would be more human interaction.

I have very little. The only people I interact with in real life are the ones who work in stores where I shop.

It’s funny, I have WAY too much human interaction during the day which is weird because I’m a closet isolationists...obviously having kids means that I can’t shut myself completely but in my down time, my kid free weekends are sacred. Any socialising get’s done during the weekday or not at all...

I've had guys send me their number on here in their first email to me. I do not know them, so I am not taking their number and would not consider giving out my number.

In general, if I have met someone through someone I know, I would give it out. Online, I want to get to know the person for awhile before I give out my number.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus...

After a few e-mails or chats I will usually offer my cell # to a woman instead of asking for hers. This is the internet after all and I want to make the woman a little more at ease by offering my # and letting her know she can block her # if she would like. Can't be too careful these days.

Well, from just my own experience men who give out their phone number or want mine in the first few emails are into rushing things along a little to soon. So anymore it's my way or no way, I tell them when they press for my phone number or for me to call them that I prefer to email through the dating site until I get to know if we are on the same "wavelength". I just feel that anyone that doesn't want to take the time isn't worth mine.JMO

When would I give my number out to someone on here? When I've gotten to know them a bit and would like to chat with/text them away from the site.

On another dating site? If I am interesting in getting to know more about them and meeting them.

I’m guessing that you would go on instinct as to when would be the right time (to give out your number) etc? ...

Yes, of course. I have no set timeline of when t give out additional contact information. When it feels right, it happens. I don't really worry about it a whole lot.

Ditto. Male or female, once I feel comfortable with someone I will give them my phone number. More of my female mingle friends have it.

When the phone ain't ringing........that's me not calling.

You guys would like my message on my voicemail.

"You better leave a message or there ain't damned way you will EVER hear back from me again"

It aint often when I give my # out anyway. I went more than 10 years without a phone and loved it. (My family and friends hated it)

I don't give it out unless I trust the person. If I feel like we have something to talk about outside of the internet, then I will consider offering/accepting it. I just don't see the point unless you are seriously conversing with the individual.

If I abandon my phone I learn to be human again. Who loses? Think we should do this when it becomes a clutch.

I've given my # out to guys who don't utilize it. It isn't always an abuse of privilege.

Well I do not live on my phone like some do, but lately it always seems to be going off whether I want it to or not. Never anything good most of the time though. indifferent That would be a nice change of pace. Maybe dunking it in a bucket of water would do me a world of good.

Made that mistake recently. Were the conversations all that serious? Eh...Id rather pull my teeth out with pliers then bet on him actually having a real back and forth. With anyone for that matter. Talking to him err...trying to scares me immensely. Tired of it.
