Yeah, I would. But, after living with my mum who has many mental illnesses for 28 years. I just want to get away from it all, not jump back into the fire :)

(I still would if I loved her alot) happy

I guess it just takes a certain kind of person to handle this sorta thing, not everyone is built that way. I am studying special needs, disabilities and other illnesses. So.....yeah I would handle it if I had too. And if I was crazy about someone or in love with them, it would just make me MORE determined to help and do everything I can to help.

It comes down to behavioral symptoms really. If a person is asymptomatic, well why not?

Married to that for 14 years. It was a nightmare. No medication, not even his pot smoking helped.

..pot smoking to help bi-polar? o.O

Eh..

>.>

A lot of people with emotional illnesses self-medicate with legal and illegal drugs. Doesn't work.

I was married to a schizophrenic. I thought I could handle it, since he was taking medication, but I learned quickly that it wasn't just a bunch of behavioral symptoms. He was really incapable of relating to people in a normal way. Although for all I know, that could have been a side effect of the drugs. But even on his medication, he was still doing things with cocaine that I don't want to think about. Self-medicating, isolating. There was no partnership in that marriage at all.

My son-in-law now is bipolar and is on meds. That seems to me a much better situation, but I don't really know him very well yet. I do hope that he finally settles down in a job for more than 6 months.

would you date a person who is bipolar but takes their medication regularly?

what's the difference between a bipolar person on drugs and a bipolar person not on drugs?
either way their brain's a little weird.
i'm more than just bipolar though.
and i don't take drugs.
and i sure as hell wouldn't date me.

I totally would i love your peekaboo eyes. Ive dealt with some woman with serious issues. Including a pathological liar. But I loved her the same lol

Yes, yes, but my thing was..
Pot for bi-polar..?
That wouldn't work.. Well, not for more than an hour maybe.

Eventually the high fades, it's not permanent.
And fades faster when you deal with the 'munchie' issue.

I just don't see that working for bi-polar unless you had an endless supply growing in your basement; because you'd need to smoke a lot..
