ir·re·gard·less
adv \ˌir-i-ˈgärd-ləs\
Definition of IRREGARDLESS
nonstandard: regardless

Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS
Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.
Examples of IRREGARDLESS

I told them that irregardless of what you read in books, they's some members of the theatrical profession that occasionally visits the place where they sleep. —Ring Lardner, The Big Town, 1921

Origin of IRREGARDLESS

Right. It's in the dictionary, but it even says it's probably a blend of irrespective and regardless, which someone said earlier. And even says to use regardless, instead. Notice, it doesn't give a separate definition for irregardless.

So, can anyone provide the actual definition for irregardless?

Following "tradional" rules for etamology it would have to mean that the subject is overlooking regardless(ness).
You're right of course... it ain't a word by standard formats.
At best it's redundant...
Nevertheless... common usage trumps all.
Watch the King of Hearts... the lunatics rule the asylum, haha.

Common usage? Do that many people actually use irregardless? I just think it's funny that it's in the dictionary without an actual definition.

I don't mind at all, some people may not notice.
Being australian there are lot of things that I say that don;t make any sense in the way you lot talk. I found that when i visited America you all talk so properly that it confused the life out of me.

It's the same with some of our spelling
color is our colour
Jail is our Gaol if I spelt this in something I was writing it would look like an error.

But really, I grew up in the bush, I talk differently I use different words, I use them incorrectly and spell heaps of them wrong. Half the time I wouldn't notice some had said something wrong as we talk like that anyway.

If it bothers some people, that would suck.. but the good thing is that they would know that if they met me I would bother them even more. As it's simply me, how I speak comes across on here.

Even the rushed spelling mistakes and missed "'' whatever you call thems.. Basically it shows who I am, I am not fussed on little things in life, I race around madly, leaving chaos behind, but I sure enjoy every second regardless of the mistakes I make..

Anyway to make a long story short ( I have no idea why they say that as this just makes it longer)

I don't care how people write or what they write as it shows me who they are and that's what I am here for.flowerforyou
