so much here,,, alot of implication that correlation is equal to causation,, possible fallacious logic there,,, child labor is undesirable sweatshops are undesirable valuing human life and allowing people an honest and livable wage for production is desirable I support minimum wage that addresses cost of living changes I dont support maximum wage that suppresses the ability for fair compensation that addresses the correlation between productivity and profit (for instance, if an entertainer/athlete etc... increases their production companies profits, so should their income increase) I would support a pay it forward program which, set 'caps' or wage levels at which people must employ someone else,,,, I always wondered if a person taking a risk to start their own business does so to provide a service and receive fair market compensation or if they do it to give people jobs.. If a Warren Buffett invests in my business and I take that investment by making capital purchases and increase my workforce to accommodate my expansion, do I have more of an obligation to the person responsible for the cash infusion or the workers I hire? I would imagine you have responsibility to both, the investor should get a return on their investment, and the workers whose effort maintains those returns should likewise receive a fair compensation for their investment of time and energy Then who should determine what "fair" compensation should be? The person responsible for creating the job and is obligated to his/her investors and employees or the government? |

if you can live comfortably and meet your NEEDS then it is a fair wage
if your neighbor that makes less than you can by the product its a fair price if you must be paid to extreme of out pricing what you make then you are negotiating yourself out of a job you dont need a ps 3 and an x box and a wii---but you should be able to be one of them |

A bag full of money to buy politicians and the news media Oh and our healthcare. Something is realy wrong when in the worst economic times the richest among us get richer while everyone else gets poorer. As someone said on another post ...People living in mansions surrounded by ten foot walls and they expect the rest to make do...tighten your belts...work harder...two jobs.. get another job...keep working hard you will get to be like us...Bollox |

The person responsible for creating the job and is obligated to his/her investors and employees or the government? a minimum should be set by the governnment, based on the cost of living,,,,imho we shouldnt set a cap on peoples goals, but we should also not have people working just to remain 'impoverished' or worse,,,,while someone else gets wealthy from their work,,, |
