"Remember My Name"

Consumed.
A rendition of something new.
But it remains nothing.
Nothing but a diversion.
Hidden within.
Caged.
Guarded by lock and key.
My inner self.
He wants out.
To be reunited.
With a former glory.
To the world.
That once banished him.
And his prophetic way of thinking.
Lurking now in the darkness.
Clear, yet starless night.
Not even can the moon be found.
During a destined cycle.
Fighting to find the surface.
To be once again.
Crowned in the sun's warming light.
Strived to be known by all.
One, maybe you will see.
Amidst all the fakeness.
Beyond the voices of deceit.
And all their false guidance.
The sharpest knife.
That will pierce your heart.
Will enter from the back.
You can then sit and reflect.
As shadows enter the light.
You'll see my tears.
As they run alongside yours.
You'll understand my pain.
Because there is no true difference.
As the eyes of the faceless.
Now come into view.
And in your last moments.
As you reminisce.
Finally, you'll remember my face
Finally, you'll remember my name.

Well, I'm glad you're going to post more. I find your poems interesting.

May I ask why the periods at the end of every line? Please understand this is NOT a criticism. I write too, and I know very well that poets make all kinds of artistic decisions. I'm curious about this one of yours.

P.S. I also know that sometimes explaining an artistic decision seems to take more effort than it's worth, or doesn't come clear for some reason, so don't feel put on the spot. I just don't remember that your other poems had this particular form.

Oddly you are the first person who has EVER asked me that.

I do it, and actually for a reason.

I can only best show you though through example.

The period in such a case like this:

Suffering like sun. <-- When I put one period; it ends that 'thought'. Not a sentence, obviously, but in my own 'mind' during my writing, it is for me, so you can consider it like that if it helps you relate.

If I put more than one dot like so:

His thoughts ran rampant.. <--which I do occasionally like so.
..suffering like the sun.

This is when the thought is continued to the next line.
Why not put it on one line?

Idk.
It's just me.

I even do it when I'm just talking, chatting, or debating.
I interrupt my own thoughts and shove them to the next..
..line without true cause.

I think I do it, solely because, of an OCD'ish like issue.

As in, I don't like one long line of words.
I prefer a more paragraph like form, even it is..
..only one sentence.

Every finished thought needed a period

Every word spelled correctly

So on and so on

But now I don't know if it comes from being on chat sites or just pure laziness
