I hear all the time that "age is just a number." Do you think that's true when it comes to dating? Does it bother you when others don't agree?

i dont think so. Most of them do look upon ages when it comes to the matter of dating. I think even for mere friendship...

I think so, but there are plenty of people who wouldn't agree. Personally I don't think about age at all.

age is not 'just' a number, its a good indicator of likely amount of life experience, and likely emotional and intellectual development

but it isnt an absolute, just a general scale to reference


there are probably more thirty somethings who speak five languages and have traveled to several countries, than there are, say, 16 year olds

when it comes to dating , you just dont KNOW until you take time to know the individual, you can find very immature 'adults' and very mature 'kids' on occasion

It's not about physical age but emotional age and maturity. Even just with friends...one of my best friends is 22....another is 49. It's the same with relationships/dating. I dont look at age, but at how we mesh together and get along. You can be at the same Place in your life as somebody who is way younger or way older..it just depends on the person. Is prefer to keep my options open and concentrate on how they make me feel rather than what the number one song was on the radio the year they were born... Ya know?

And it doesnt bother me if someone doesn't agree with me. Everyone has the right to feel how they feel. And even though I wear my bossy britches a lot, I'm technically not ruler of the world. So yeah.

So I guess I'll just say that to ME that orange pie is just that one particular 50 year old guy that I don't mesh with at all while the fruit salad is that one 25 year old guy I would date. Man, I love a good food analogy. Lmao

But honestly..if after a few years that same 25 year old and 47 year old connect and want to be together...fantastic. Happy for them. :)

The time I actually hear "age is just a number" the most are from the men who aren't in the basic age range I prefer. I go with what I'm attracted to and have more in common with, which seems to be close to my age or a bit younger. I tend to get along with those men better when it comes to dating, as well as us being in the same place in life. Much older, we're just at different places in life and have less in common.

Right. And when they throw it out like that, it's kind of like somebody your age trying to force you to Iike them just because they want you to. You can't make someone like you by throwing out cheesy phrases. Silly guys. Lol

Sometimes my mine turns on, I saw this an WOW. I have just heard this from about FIVE younger men is less 3 days. Yes is a number, so is distance. But these younger people want children I had mine an grandchildren. So what happens when they need to leave their name on a legacy. Can't happen here.And don't wan't to raise any more. So what to do then??? It might be great for a while, but this certianly might happen.It wouldn't be fair or right for me to denigh the pro creation that they want or need. So no it doesn't bother me that they say this .Me myself wouldn't be able to do.
