Monkees star Davy Jones dies at age 66

No doubt you're humming Daydream Believer or Last Train to Clarksville as you read this.

The lead singer of The Monkees, Davy Jones, has died.

His rep tells TMZ that he died after suffering a heart attack this morning in Florida. Jones was 66.

TMZ confirmed Jones' death with an official from the medical examiner's office for Martin County, Fla.

Jones is survived by his wife Jessica and four daughters from previous marriages.

Jones joined The Monkees in 1965, with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork.

I'm a big fan of The Monkees, their show, their movie 'Head', and their music...just watched a Bio on Davy a few weeks ago.

Its hard to believe that Jimi Hendrix opened for them!

And he was practically booed off the stage by the teen Monkee fanatics.

I liked him the most in their group,,,only because he was the smallest and got all the girls...lol
His passing will be a World missing a friend.. Prayers for his wife and family,,,,

Such a shame, rest in peace!
At least we have great memories of the music :)

Big fan as well. They always make me smile. This is my favorite tune.....
