i have a 13 year old nephew who loves myspace.

well, not that i agree with children being on sites like these, but at least they are making an effort, and are cracking down on the offenders.

*Sigh* This is basically the equivalent to kids stealing the family car. If parents are on top of their kids, raise them right, are consistent when they reward or punish, the reduce the likelihood that a child is going to engage in high risk behavior.

Informing kids about sex-offenders, and the tactics they use is the best prevention - not limiting the number of them on the internet. Why you might ask?

Because if a six year old can figure out how to fake parental verification, then a sex offender can figure out how to use the internet anonymously. Seriously...it's like pissing on a fire to put it out.

That is totally outrageous. I wonder if there are more perverts now or if we are just more aware of them because of better reporting and record keeping. Times have certainly changed and not for the better.

Absolutely disgusting to think that men would want to have sex with a 14 year old. they arrested aroung 35 of them in New Jersey, one who was on probation from a previous offense with a 14 year old girl. Some of the stuff they said in the chat rooms was horible. There are a bunch of sick sick sick people out there
