I was at the animal shelter today, loving on kittehs as I always do (and I fell in love with a fluffy white one, I wish I could get it  ) And thru the window into the kitten room and I saw a tiny lil kitteh head pop up. They keep kittens separate from people so they don't catch diseases, because their bodies couldn't handle it. It looked around for a second until it saw me and it mewed. In my mind I could see it saying "Why hallo thar! Can u open this here door to let us out and plays? Plz?" I busted out laughing and it woke up the cat I was snuggling with. laugh

Having my 7 y/o granddaughter spend the night and sleep in my bed and cuddle up to me.

Having my 3 y/o grandson yelling "gamma, gamma" into the phone and saying "I luv you" when he hangs up after telling me about watching his favorite movie "Cars."

Buying them clothes and toys and sending them "Grandma boxes" now that they live in Oregon (about 9 hours away) and I haven't seen them since January, and hearing about how Alex screams "gamma box, gamma box" when his mom carries it out of the post office and he starts ripping it open when they get home. Then he calls to tell me he loves me and likes the talking garbage truck and other stuff.

Yeah, but Gyps, give him a few more years and there will like be the pitter patter of more little feet running around and you can start all over with the grandbabies. They are even cooler than your own. You can play with them and spoil them --then send them home to their parents- bigsmile laugh

Yes, Rae, grandkids are the best. I loved my grandpa the best, he was so cool. Was like he had no parenting issues to deal with and was comfortable with where he was in his life and we just got along. He was such a great man and smart and I loved spending time with him. My best memories of childhood are of spending time with him. Parents are wrapped up in the house stuff, bills, raising the kids, discipline, etc., where the grandparents can enjoy the kids for who they are. That is my opinion anyway.
