No, the problem is dont throw rocks. Issues like these are not solved with rocks, or bullets. But when you throw a rock at a guy holding a rifle, you are asking to get shot. Its stupid. I made no comment on any other aspect of this whole debacle. My comment was specific to the guy who threw a rock, and then got shot. The end.

No matter how complex a problem is, throwing rocks at a guy with rifle will never fix it. The sarcasm in the responses show a commitment to rhetoric, not dialog.

You know I know a family who lived in Palestine. In fact its really three families. They pooled there resources together and moved to America. There are positive ways to interact with a problem, and negative ways. Throwing rocks at a person with superior firepower is not a positive way to do anything but get killed.

I dont make claims to know what is the right thing for everyone to do, nor to claim that I know who is responsible for event X, or Y, or really anything, but arguing that throwing rocks at a man with a rifle is a good thing is a loosing argument.

This is not an argument about throwing rocks.


This is a conflict about land on the one hand and establishing a Jewish State for a Jewish People on the other.

That was tried in Northern Ireland Seven Decades ago and did not, could not and should not succeed .

Some left because it was dangerous and some stood their ground and threw rocks molotov cocktails, a lot of people died.

I could go on but this is not about Northern Ireland This is about Palestine which is very similar in my opinion.

In both cases it ends up as a battle for Land Not Religion

Here is the difference between the two sides.

Hamas attacks civilians on purpose with bombs, rockets, kidnappings
anything which can harm innocent people. This is their principal
tactic. Same as Al-Qaeda.

Israel on the other hand never attacks innocent civilians on purpose
and only operates when necessary to defend themselves and warns
any citizens before going in. So it is not the same for both sides.

And the acid test is: Whenever the Palestinian terrorist attacks
stop there is long lasting peace and even a degree of prosperity.

In the conflict posted above in this thread it is not obvious who
started the rock throwing but at least no one was seriously injured.
At least it was not a Hamas terrorist attack.

I remember a hearing a lot about all the fighting in Northern Ireland but I did not know a lot about what was going on there.

Protestants against Catholics is all I remember. I thought that was strange since they are both "Christian" religions.

But when you think about the three major Abrahamic religions and how they are based on King David and his alleged descendants and how they all use the Bible for their religious dogma, they are all basically the same religion in that respect.

If this world could just give up religions and myths, and just live together for profit and/or peace it would be a much better world.

If there were no religions the whole idea of needing a "place" (or country) to practice your religion in peace -- would be non existent.
It would end a lot of conflict.

Give up your attachment to your religious dogma in exchange for world peace.
