So, i did a thorough house cleaning today and seen one too many roaches for my liking. They are a common pest here in Hawaii since they thrive in warm humid climates so don't be thinking I'm a slob. Everywhere you go here you see them and they get pretty freakin big too.

I've declared war now to rid them of my house. Tonight, I set fifteen traps for them and sometime this week I'll set off the fogger poison all over my house.

Take that you virmin!

Anyone have any tips on killing them and keeping them from coming back?

I have no tips but I am curious to know what a cochroach trap looks like.

The roach traps I got from Wallyworld basically have a bait you apply to the center of a very sticky surface. They go after the bait and get trapped in the sticky stuff. I can say that it does work, I've checked a few I've put around the house and have already caught a few

I was picturing tiny mouse traps. What if these cochroach thingys surrender in this war of yours? Do you take prisoners?

No, no prisoners in this war. Cockroaches, mosquitos, and centepieds are all evil I tell you! There will be no mercy

You can try Combat roach gel. I had a similar problem a couple years back. I tried exterminators, spray, bombs-they didn't work. After using the gel, i've had no problems and its been almost two years. You can order it on amazon.

One night, lying in bed, in a house on
the beach in Hawaii, I heard this..sound.
I could not figure what it was, in the
middle of the night.
ALmost too scared to turn on a light, but
I did.
There was HERD of cockroaches crossing
the CARPET, loud enough to wake a soul.
Well, OMG.
I hear they are rampant in Hawaii because
they have no natural enemies.

The management came in with the industrial
spray to get rid of the 'roaches.
While it made ME sick, after, the smell,
it seemed to have little or no effect on
the 'roaches, who still strutted about at will.
They are the devil.

You should move to Australia.

You may win some battles but good luck with the war. We have 'em here in Florida too, along with a nasty flea infestation. It's an ongoing problem with no end in sight no matter what I do.

I have been finding some 2 inch long roaches flipped over dead on the floor recently. I think the cats are getting 'em. Either that or they just die of old age maybe! I'm just happy they're dead honestly!

In Australia there are spiders that want to live in your house the size of plates. All insects grow to mammoth proportions. I saw green marching ants carrying the hugest bone and I did not have a camera on me. Was an awesome thing to see.

Have you heard about baby Azariah who went missing when in the Australian outback with her parents? Aliens or green ants I say.

Yeah, that's where my quote was inspired from, that movie they made from it. "Dingo et my baby!"

Lol, I never watched the movie or took much interest. I just knew it was aliens, so that killed any interest.

*Update from the battlefield*

Operation "Population Control" was a great success. There were many enemy casualties and so far they haven't resurfaced. I am hoping they will retreat, but if they do retaliate, then it's on to operation "Gas Chamber"

I'm going to try what I've purchased already but if I still am having issues with the buggers, I'll try the borax they mention in the article

Never give up, never surrender. They are just pests after all. We have ants here. You can exterminate them, but if the neighbours dont deal with theirs, it corrupts the neighbourhood.
