Soooo...one person showed up...along with a couple of my mans friends. Wow... I guess being antisocial isn't so bad which is what I'm going to go back to being.

If you got a note on your door inviting you to a party at a new neighbors house would you think its creepy?

Sooo one of the guys we met in our apartment complexes said that he thinks my note makes me sound like a creeper? LoL I invited everyone on our floor as well as the apartment directly above and below us to a housewarming party to welcome myself to the neighborhood...i thought it was an awesome idea! Simply because people don't really WANT to meet their neighbors anymore and because it seems like there are a lot of people our age in the complex so....i mean if you got a note on your door that read a little something like this:

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

Yes I'm throwing myself a housewarming party cause no one else will.

My boyfriend and i just moved in a couple of weeks ago and much to his dismay i'm ready to mingle..Actually not to sound like a creeper i just want to get to know my neighbors...those i am cohabitating with if thats even a word..Anyway if you enjoy horrible b movies come by...We'll have awesome poor people snacks (moving is expensive) and cheap beer...

Hope to see you this weekend

That was a summary of how the invite went...Now...Honestly if you got that taped to your door would you think odd?

I would be like WTF? I wouldn't think it was creepy, just odd. But, when I dream of owning my own home, I dream of cook puts and block parties, and getting the whole neighborhood together, so I think it's awesome that you did that.

The reason I would find it odd is because people just don't do that anymore, but it would be awesome to bring it back.

I would have given two to three weeks notice so people can plan for it. I do parties for my child, not that much different, & lots of notice is always appreciated. Also actual invitations or personally going door to door works. Try again?? flowerforyou

Meh...a little disenchanted.. It seems like a no win for me... I'm a little less than social people think I'm an *******... I try to be social and talk to people they think i'm weird so.
