I guess its fair to counter Warren Buffets assertion that millionaires like him DONT pay their fair share

by putting up an another millionaire to claim they pay MORE THAN

I dont think its simply whether people are paying more in DOLLARS/TAX RATES

as we know the wealthy have the accountants and loopholes and writeoffs to greatly reduce what their ACTUAL rate ends up being

but even , disregarging the taxes, even with everyone paying MORE over the last few decades

the BENEFIT HAs been disproportionate,, causing an indefensible GAP Between the top and the bottom that will only continue to grow if nothing is done to curb it,,,

of we just pass it off by what income tax people pay, we will continue to see a growing gap between those who work hard for less income and those who work hard for more income

with the latter exponentially increasing their income and thus power
with the former seeing an exponential decrease in theirs,,,

it would be like all the slaves becoming complacent and saying 'well, the masters are PAYING for all the housing and food, we should stop whining, and accept our plight at the bottom,,,'

I would be happy with an equal INCREASE of income tax across the board

but its illogical to take the already nearly disenfranchised(simply because their income isnt high enough) and ask them to pay more

while the ones with privileges and benefits and power are given more breaks and privileges,,,

Slaves? What slaves?

the slaves of the 17 and 18 hundreds

you know, they werent PAYING into the system at all so shouldnt have been so whiny and 'entitled' according to Mr Corrolas logic,,,

slaveowners paid the taxes that slaves did not,, so the slaveowners were entitled to all the benefits they continued to receive and teh slaves werent really entitled to anything close and shouldnt have been whining about all that 'equality' stuff when they werent equally contributing (in taxes)

You have shelter, food, transportation, internet,tv, clean water etc. Keep whining you made my point.

So a person who is more successful and hard working is a master.

So a person who does not contribute to anything is a slave. I thought slaves worked. Great message for the children. Don't work and get that check and if you complain hard enough maybe the government will give a vacation to.

with the exception of internet and tv,, so did slaves..lol

the person who believes one can work and not be 'contributing' is one having a slaveholders mentality,,

In other words, equal opportunity does not guarantee equal results, and some people want equal results.

. . . we will continue to see a growing gap between those who work hard for less income and those who work hard for more income . . .

There is a difference between working hard and making good decisions.

You can work hard, but if you fail to make good decisions, then you will continue to work hard for minimal results.

What would happen if no one was willing to work in low-wage jobs? Restaurant and chain stores and many other businesses would be forced to shut their doors and close-up...These days decent paying jobs aren't easy to find. And wages are basically "frozen in time" and don't keep-up with rising inflation...When I was growing-up back in the 50's and 60's we had manufacturing plants in most every town that paid good wages..And anyone could open a store or cafe or small business in their hometown and expect to do well...Now our manufacturing base (and jobs) are all in China or elsewhere around the globe...And corporations have taken over our towns and cities with all their "chain outlets." (Big-box stores...restaurants..."fast food" outlets and you name it.) It's not easy to start a small "mom and pop business" anymore and compete with all the chains...Most of us are forced to work for corporations today and they can pay us anything they want because they are practically the only "game in town."...Even worse: These days our retirement is tied to corporations and the stock market. Things weren't always this way in our country.

yes , it has been a sellers market where employment and income are concerned for far too long

there needs to be an ebb and flow, sometimes things need to swing towards the benefit of those working hard at 'the bottom' as well,,,

you do realize that the lowest 50% of all income earners pay 3% of total federal income taxes, right?

that is 50 out of every 100 that earns a paycheck..3 fning percent

how in the fning hell are you going to ask the other 50 people that already cover 97% of the taxes to fning pay more?

this mentality that its their responsibility to pay for everything and now should pay even more is so illogical that I can't even grasp how one comes to this conclusion..

seriously..

yes, and you do realize the lowest 50 percent only make 12 percent of total income,, dont you?

that is five out of every ten with a paycheck, are getting about 1/8 of what the other five are getting...

the next one in five makes 20 percent of the total income

and the next four are making almost 3 out of EVERY FOUR dollars made in america

numbers can show alot of things,,,depending upon perspective

income tax is correlated with amount of INCOME, so we now have more people than ever making not enough INCOME and a small part making the majority of it,,,,,

the taxes reflect that reality, but people keep looking at it backwards as if the income is an equitable ENTITLEMENT in return for the taxes

Easy to say when one pays no taxes.>>>>>(I would be happy with an equal INCREASE of income tax across the board)laugh laugh laugh smokin

------------------------------------------------------------------

The feral ghetto rats are evening up the greed field.

They won't work for it, they believe they deserve it and go on flash mob binges and steal it.

They are jealous of those who have and were taught, by their parents, to take what they want instead of doing what civilized folks do and earn it.

its easy to say when people are making money that those not making as much are 'ghetto rats' looking for handouts,,,

they are completely OBLIVIOUS to the reality of how hard people can work and STILL be in the bottom income bracket,,,

Ghetto rats are the entitlement, you owe me, crowd who sit on extensions and/or welfare and won't work.

Got not one thing to do about those who are working where they can find the jobs. And that means, any job til a better one becomes available.

Has anyone asked if US Citizens are learning Spanish so they can assimilate and become part of society?

spoken like someone who hasnt RAISED Children in current times

any job is NOT good enough, children need a routine, they need child care, and 'on call' and dependable child care providers are rare

do employers take an 'any employee is good enough' attitude?

thats the nonsense spoken by people without families or a need so SUPPORT them,,,
