Have any of you guys been on a date where the other person was so concerned about money it nearly wreaked the date? What do you do when in that predicament?

But I sure been on a lot of dates where I was so concerned about the price of french fry or green pea, that I nearly wrecked the date.

Guys these days are smarter than they used to be. They no longer offer food on the first date. So... I live in a small town, here people get a reputation quickly. When I go on a job interview, the boss asks, usually, "so... wux... what do you hope or plan to take away from the table?" (this was a joke originally cracked, with a different lead-up, by my very good friend Paul who is a suicide.)

I just say "This place isn't so great.... Let's head back to my place and I will whip up some fettucini alfredo, cake, ice cream and coffee! We'll spoon feed each other and order whatever movie you like!"

maybe he had plenty of money, he just needed an excuse because he didn't enjoy the company. if a date isn't going well, do you think the two parties will own up to it and part ways? some people are shallow enough to lie about stuff don't you think? sorry, it's late, i know it's impolite to answer a question with a question, much less two

I haven't been on a date like that before. Then again, dates don't always have to be expensive. Some of my favorites have been free or cheap.

I had a similar story: The guy asked me to go see a movie w/him, but I guess he meant watch one that he downloaded from onto his computer. Haha. He pretty much kicked me out after the movie was over. Moral of the story: Details, ladies! Make sure you know exactly what he means before you say 'yes' to a date. Jk. It happens, I guess. Misinterpretation. Now, before I go on a date: 1) I make sure I feed myself 2) be already fully entertained 3) be sober/stay sober so I can take myself home if need be (unless I am with trusted friends and someone else is driving)
